In the market for a Chromebook, but don’t whether to pick up the luxurious Google Pixelbook or the ASUS Flip C302CA? It can be a tough decision, if not because both are remarkably similar in a couple different areas. On one hand, you might want the Google Pixelbook because it’s essentially a luxury Chromebook with some beefy hardware and a slick design. No other Chromebook on the market can offer you a whopping 512GB of storage and such a clear display. However, it comes at an expensive price.
Google Pixelbook Vs Asus Flip
On the other hand, you have the ASUS Flip C302CA. This Chromebook has a lot to offer — the hardware isn’t as high-end as the Google Pixelbook, but it’s still really good. You can’t order it with nearly as much storage as the Pixelbook, but there’s a fair amount there, and plenty of Cloud storage to rely on if storage is getting thin. It also has a sleek MacBook-like design. It’s essentially a Google Pixelbook, but for those that don’t want to spend the $1000 or so on a Chromebook.
So, which one should you get? It can be a hard decision, but follow along below, we’ll be sure to help you make a wise decision.
The Google Pixelbook is a special Chromebook. You can consider it the independent successor to the Pixelbook Google tried to launch years ago. Now, it’s back, and with a bang. First, the Google Pixelbook has had a complete remodel — it’s now a simple and sleek looking device with a premium keyboard layout. Not only that, but you get a crystal clear display, perfect for streaming all of your favorite movies and TV shows. Regular video will look just as great, too.
In the Google Pixelbook, you also get some serious high-end hardware choices. You can choose between an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor. And those choices will give you either 8 or 16GB of RAM, respectively. Additionally, you can get up to 512GB of storage space, depending on your processor choice.
Overall, you cannot go wrong with what the Google Pixelbook has to offer. Between the luxurious style and the premium hardware package, you’re getting a high-end Chromebook, a type of Chromebook that isn’t seen very much in the market. Both of these — design and hardware — work together to make sure you have a seamless experience with your Chromebook.
All of this together means you’re looking at about $1100 for your Chromebook. So while you get the most luxury and premium hardware package on the market for the Chromebook, it does come at a high price tag, too. That’s something to definitely consider before purchasing.

Next, you have the ASUS Chromebook Flip C302CA. It’s not much of a step down from the Google Pixelbook, with only a few differences. You still get a premium hardware package, although not nearly as high-end as the Pixelbook; however, do you really need a major setup, considering it’s essentially an Internet device? Not really. Still, you have the choice between an Intel Celeron M3 processor and an Intel Celeron M5 processor. That gives you 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB in flash storage. You get a large battery, that can last up to 10 hours off of a single charge — although you might get less depending on how much of that is straight video watching. Normal use will give you ten hours though.
You get a beautiful screen, too. It comes in at 12.5-inches, and is a Full HD touchscreen. Perfect for watching movies, TV and regular video. The screen sits on a 360-degree hinge, so you can use your touchscreen Chromebook in a variety of positions. You can use it as a normal laptop, a tablet with a stand, or even a straight tablet. In tablet mode, an on-screen keyboard appears to replace the physical keyboard when it’s folded up.

All in all, the Google Pixelbook and Acer Flip C302CA are both excellent devices. Both have fantastic hardware packages that will keep the lights running smoothly, and both have a great design profile, although the Google Pixelbook might look a little sleeker and unique. If you’re not cash-strapped, the choice is obvious: go with the Google Pixelbook. You won’t find a more luxurious Chromebook on the market, and it’s backed with the excellent customer support that Google offers.
But, if you’re strapped for cash, the ASUS Chromebook Flip C302CA is not a bad option at all — in all honesty, it’s a Google Pixelbook without the Google name, and has less storage space. Other than that, you won’t notice a difference!
