The #Samsung #Galaxy #S8 is a flagship phone released last year that uses a different design approach when compared to its predecessor which is the S7. Comparing the two devices you will notice that the S8 no longer has a physical home button which means that the front part of the phone is occupied mostly by the 5.8 inch Super AMOLED display. This model also sports improved hardware components making it perform much better. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8 stuck in Samsung screen issue and other related problems.
S8 Stuck In Samsung Screen
Problem: My Samsung galaxy s8 was working fine, and then tried to reboot itself whilst still on charge, it failed to do that and kept vibrating and rebooting not getting past the “Samsung galaxy s8, powered by android.” Screen, now it’s just stuck on there, have tried soft reboot but hasn’t worked just stays on that screen.
Solution: One of the main factors that can cause this particular problem is a software glitch which is what we will be checking first. Before proceeding I recommend that you remove the microSD card of the phone if you have one installed as sometimes this can cause this type of problem.
Try checking if an app you downloaded is the culprit by starting the phone in Safe Mode. when the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the phone can boot in this mode then the problem is most likely caused by one of the apps you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
In case the issue still persists then you should start the phone in recovery mode then wipe the cache partition of the device. Follow this up with a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
S8 Stopped Charging
Problem: I upgraded to the s8 in February. I love the phone. However this week the phone stopped charging with the OEM cable and adapter. I have a Samsung non fast charge adapter that allows me to charge the device, however i have tried 2 Samsung adaptive fast charge adapters and the phone wont charge. Please help. Oh i did start the phone in Safe Mode to see if it would charge, it did not.
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air as dirt or debris stuck in this port can cause this issue.
You also need to check the fast charging setting of the phone and make sure that it is switched on. To do this go to Settings then Battery. Tap on More Options then on Advanced Settings then make sure that the Fast Cable Charging option is turned on.
In case the issue persists then try using a different charging cord and Adaptive Fast Charger.
S8 Moisture Detected In Charging Port
Problem: Hi, I’ve been have an issue with “moisture detected in usb port” for over a month. I can clear USB cache/data to get normal charging back but it will not fast charge or charge at all when phone is off. I can still fast charge wirelessly. I have performed a factory reset, as my last resort, and that did not help. I tried Verizon software assistant and it just locks up at the point where it attempts to access my USB port while in download mode, about 60% in after finishing the download of the software. I’d love to hear if you have any different ideas other than sending in for service. Thank you
Solution: It looks like this is caused by an issue with the charging port of the phone. Try cleaning this port first using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in it is removed. Once this is done try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone.
If the problem persists then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this might be caused by a defective charging port assembly or power IC.
S8 Battery Draining Very Fast
Problem: OK I’ve been having my S8 for a year and never had any kind of problem until a couple of weeks ago noticed battery draining very fast. It takes a very long time to charge. And I mean it could be charging an hour and it will move only like 4 percent but very unusual? ?? so I downloaded all kinds of antivirus apps. Thinking I had something on my phone. But not one virus / malware so I backup my contacts and first did a wipe cache partition. Nothing still was acting up so I factory reset my phone. And still the same problem .I have noticed that a bunch of background apps running so I think this is the cause of the overheating and battery draining fast. I even tried those background apps. Nothing seems to work. Have you found a solution to this and why all of a sudden is happening?
Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing this first then backup your phone data. Perform a factory reset again but this time once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check if the battery still drains fast. If it does then the battery of the phone might already be faulty. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
