S7 Edge Camera Not Focusing

Problem: Hi, the back camera on my samsung S7 Edge works fine from a distance, but doesn’t focus up close, the focal length is about 10 cm. Tried both auto focus and manual focus, neither works. I’ve tried factory reset, wiping the camera cache, even going into the reboot menu. Any ideas?

Solution: When taking a photos that is close make sure that there is sufficient lighting then tap on the subject on the phone display that you want to focus on. If the phone still does not focus and since you have already performed a factory reset then your other option is to make sure that the phone is running on the latest software update. If it already is then you should have this checked at a service center as this could already be caused by an issue with the camera module.

S7 Edge Camera Failed Error

Problem: I purchased my phone in November 2017 and the first week in December, 2017 I got at “Camera failed” message when I tried to take a picture. I was in Germany at the time and very upset when this happened. Upon my return home, I visited my Verizon retailer where I purchased the phone and was told at that time it was a problem consumers have had with this phone. Wish I had known at the time of purchase. Now it has happened again, and no matter what I have done, it will not work! I am very unhappy with this phone and want it fixed or replaced.

Related Problem: Hello, Whenever I try using my selfie camera, my phone load and a window pop up saying “Warning camera failed”. I got a Samsung galaxy S7 Edge, i tried everything I could find online except factory reset but nothing worked. I brought my phone on the Samsung website store, on the 26/09/2017. So it’s pretty new… What can I do ? Can I send it back ?

Solution: The first thing that you will want to do in this particular case is to clear the cache and data of the camera app from the application manager as the problem could be caused by a glitch in the app itself. Once this is done try checking if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed with the steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S7 Edge Not Focusing After Drop

Problem: Hi there, my phone was dropped last September and screen broke, which was then fixed, but the camera has never been same..The focus is off when trying to take someone’s picture which leaves the image blurry…The front face camera is not blurry but has like a fog type shadow down one side, plus videos are blurred too. was wondering if this can be fixed itself or would it need to be taken to a shop?

Solution: The best way to proceed in this case is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try to check if the problem still occurs. If it does then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component already in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
