The #Samsung #Galaxy #S7Edge is a former flagship Android smartphone released in 2016 that is still a powerful device to use today. This phone uses a Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890 processor ( depending on market region) combined with 4GB of RAM allowing it to run processor intensive apps with ease. While it shares similar hardware components as the S7 phone this model has a larger 5.5 inch Super AMOLED display and uses a bigger 3600 mAh battery. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S7 Edge boot loop with flashing yellow LED issue and other related problems.

S7 Edge Boot Loop With Flashing Yellow LED
Problem: Hi i have a Samsung S7 Edge and i was having problems with it so i decided to reset it so i did so it was working fine all day then i put it on the charge over night i woke up and it’s now in a boot loop but the led is flashing yellow (because i had a snapchat notification) but my phone is fully off but the led it still flashing yellow anyway i can’t boot it into recovery mode the only thing i can do is boot up the download one so i went on my laptop and downloaded a new firmware install it but it is still in a boot loop and the led is still flashing yellow I’ve spend all day doing what videos/websites have be telling me to do and it’s still doing the same thing if you can help me figure it out i would really appreciate it thanks.
Solution: The default LED colors of the phone are blue, red, and green. Since you are getting a yellow color then this could be because of a third party app, in this case the Snapchat app. One of the main causes of a boot loop issue is because of a third party app installed in the phone. However, since you have already flashed the phone data and the issue still persists then there’s a possibility that this is caused by a faulty hardware component. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Freezes On Samsung Logo
Problem: My note S7 Edge was working fine until today it kept switching off and now that i’ve left it off for a while for some reason it switches on but freezes showing the samsung logo and doesnt come on. i’ve got a lot of stuff in that phone which i can’t afford to loose.i showed it to a repair shop one said maybe battery i tried but same thing and the other guy said software but i cant use software update as it will loose all the data i have in the phone.can u please advice me a safer and better way
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to try starting the phone in Safe Mode and if the phone works in this mode you should backup your phone data. In case the phone does not start then you should consider doing a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data. In case this does not work then the problem is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.
S7 Edge Not Detected By Computer After Software Update
Problem: My and my wifes phone were updated recently to the Nougat ( i think) version of android OS and since then we were both simultaneously unable to connect to our vehicles Android Auto function. The phones would charge only and connect via bluetooth, tried 10-12 different cords brand new and original ones. We later learned that our phones were not detected by any of our computers either, only charging. I have done exhaustive research and tried all the typical solutions (debug mode, MTP mode, photo transfer mode). There is never any option when plugged into devices to change except to say look at the battery and usage. Seems this is some kind of software issue since both phones defected at the same time after the update.
Solution: If this issue occurred after a software update then this might be caused by some old software data that has not been completely removed from the phone. This old data is now causing a conflict with the new software version resulting in this issue. The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If this still fails to fix the problem then proceed with the steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
- Try using a different USB cord to connect the phone to the computer.
If the above steps fail then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Only Charges When Off
Problem: Hi, I have a problem with my Samsung S7 Edge (that I’ve owned for approximately 2 years) where if I try to charge my phone it does not acknowledge the presence of the USB. The same USB and wall plug charge with other phones and I have the same problem when using other USB cords. I’m not sure that this is a problem with the charging socket in my phone because it works as it should do when i switch the power off. I’m not sure what else to try, or what may be helpful. Thank you so much in advance.
Solution: It looks like this is already a hardware related problem. Try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then use a different wall charger when charging the phone. If the issue persists then the problem could be caused by a faulty charging port assembly or defective power IC. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
