Note 5 Out Of Service Error When Placing Calls
Problem: Hi, I own a Samsung Galaxy Note 5, that I had bought in December 2015. Lately after the recent update I am facing a lot of Network issues. Whenever I try to place a call, firstly the network goes “Out Of Service”, then after 1/2 mins, the network returns, then I can place a call successfully. And the frequency of the issue is 100%. Every time, I face this problem. And almost 80% of the time my phone is unreachable for incoming calls. Funnily the internet is not affected by this, and seems like only normal voice calls are getting affected. I have replaced the sim card with a new one, but it didn’t solve my problem. I have switched my phone to check if it was an issue with the Network carrier, but in the other phone the sim works fine. Is there any way to fix this issue? Please help.
Solution: Based on the initial troubleshooting steps that you performed on the device it seems that this is already caused by a faulty hardware component, possibly the antenna. You can do an additional troubleshooting by performing a factory reset on your phone. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked/repaired.
Note 5 Cannot Hear Other Caller Unless On Speakerphone
Problem: When I make or take a phone call, cannot hear the other caller unless on speakerphone. Was using a bluetooth/plantronics headset yesterday and was having no issues. Late last night, phone calls were working when I tried to call from home line. Was on phone with Samsung this morning but she’s calling me back. Cannot do soft reset as I don’t know how to open back of phone to take battery out.
Solution: This issue could be caused by a faulty internal speaker which is why your calls can only be heard through the speakerphone. To check if other factors could be causing this problem you should proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Make sure that the call volume is set to its maximum level then check if you can hear the caller.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 5 Calls Are Getting Cut Off
Problem: Hi there, I have followed all the steps suggested but still my calls are getting cut off or muted for 5/10/15 seconds at a time mod call. I’ve both swapped the SIM and Samsung have sent me a new device but the issue still exists! Can you suggest anything I can do or should I just return it?
Solution: Try to check if this is a location related problem by going to a different location then make a call. If the issue persists then confirm with your carrier if there are any call related issues that might affect your account.
In case the problem is not account or network related then you should consider doing a factory reset on your phone. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet instead check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this could be caused by a faulty hardware component in the phone in which case you will need to have this checked at a service center.
Note 5 Can’t Hear Caller
Problem: hi. Im samsung note 5 user. Im having problem with my samsung note 5, where when i receive calls from certain numbers most of the time i couldn’t hear what they talking. but when i return call i could hear from them. sometimes even with earphone i couldn’t hear from certain numbers. usually this problem arise when i receive or make call for local numbers. never encounter when dial mobile number.
Solution: Since this problem occurs intermittently then it’s likely that this is caused by some form of software glitch. Try checking if the issue occurs in Safe Mode and if it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then you will have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
