Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Shuts Off & Other Related Issues

What’s probably the most annoying issue that you can experience with the #Samsung Galaxy #Note4 is when it shuts off on its own. It would be less of a problem if the reason behind this is if the battery just ran out of charge since you can simply connect the phone to a charger and easily charge it. Note 4 Shuts Off On Its Own

Problem: At 85% battery charge while on the internet or gmail my phone shuts off constantly.

Will having a lot of saved  pages from the  internet as “”bookmarks””  be part  of the problem?

Battery has  been changed. This has been going on since lollipop was upgraded from kit kat

Solution: Having several bookmarks saved does not cause this type of issue.

Sometimes a phone may shut off if there is no more system RAM available to use. When this issue happens do you have several tabs open on your browser as well as several app running in the background? If this is the case then try closing your apps and use fewer tabs when browsing.

Corrupt data can also cause this type of issue. To verify if this is the case you should wipe the cache partition of your phone. Once this is done check and see if the issue still occurs.

Another factor that could cause this problem is the apps you downloaded in your phone. To check if this is the case you should start your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the pre-installed apps in your phone are allowed to run. Apps that you downloaded are disabled. If the problem does not occur in this mode then an app you downloaded is the most likely cause of this problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the problem still persists at this point then you should backup your phone data and do a factory reset.

Note 4 Shuts Off At 80% Battery Charge

Problem: While in Google gmail or internet uploading pictures to my Samsung Note 4 phone the phone shuts off at 80% battery charge. Plug in the charger and the phone will reboot. No other apps are running in the background. Battery  was  replaced  but not the OEM 3220 mah. Now 2800 mah. Problem started when lollipop was installed by Metro pcs. Samsung model  SM-910H. unlocked phone from Samsung. Phone is not running hot. Downloaded CPU-Z  to view working status. All is fine.  The phone will not go down to 0% charge. Around 30% with nothing going on it will just crash to 0% and shut off. Any options?

Solution: This problem could be caused by some form of corrupt temporary data in your phone. Try wiping the cache partition and see if this resolves the problem.

There are also instances when an app installed in your phone could cause this issue. Have you noticed if this problem occured after installing a specific app? That app may be causing the problem. To verify if a third party app is causing this issue you should start your phone in Safe Mode. In this mode only the default apps are allowed to run while apps you installed are disabled. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it is highly likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode and since you mentioned that it occurred right after the Lollipop update then I suggest you backup your phone data and do a factory reset. The reason behind this is that there may still be some data from the old software version left in your phone. This data is conflicting with the new software version which causes this type of issue among other things.

Note 4 Shuts Off With Plenty Of Battery Power Left

Problem: Galaxy note 4. Since lollipop was installed, Constantly shutting off with plenty of battery power left while in use of Google gmail or Google internet. Replaced the battery and problem persists.

Solution: This problem is similar to the one we answered above. Try to follow the same troubleshooting steps. You should make sure to follow the last troubleshooting step which lets you do a factory reset since this problem occured right after updating your phone software.

Note 4 Turns Off On Its Own

Problem: Hi, I use a galaxy note 4 n901f variant. My battery is normal and gives me about 4.5 hours of screen on time but when it reaches 15 percent starts behaving weirdly. For example it jumps to 10 percent from 15 and a minute later it’s 5 percents and the phone turns of at that percentage. Or it continues reducing normally to 6 percent and then turns off. It does not have a usual way. When I’m charging the phone, it does not take a long time but it hesitates for a while on 92 percent and then goes quickly to 100 percents. I tried calibrating the battery and a factory data reset and it didn’t help. Special thanks for your help in advance.

Solution: Having 4.5 hours of on time is too short for this phone. Since you already did a factory reset which didn’t resolve the problem then I suggest you try replacing the phone battery with a new one.

Note 4 Turns Off At 12% Battery Life

Problem: At 12% battery  life my phone just drops straight  to zero and dies.

Solution: It’s very likely that your phone battery is already faulty. Before replacing the battery though you should check first if this is a software related issue. Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If the problem still persists then try getting a new battery.

Note 4 Does Not Turn On

Problem: Martian guy on his back says no command. Android system recovery ktu84p. I337ucufnj4 up top an on bottom says manual mode. And other stuff. I recently dropped phone and it bent volume button so I don’t think I can use volume up but can down.

Solution: Try taking out the battery of your phone then press and hold the power button. This discharges the phone circuit and clears out its RAM. Reinsert the battery then turn on your phone. If the problem persists then the volume button of your phone may be stuck and is causing this problem. I suggest you bring your phone to an authorized service center and have it checked.

  1. Hi, i have a problem with my noite 4 it hust shuts it self of under 40% battery charge and i checked the app thingy and all is working. could it be that the phone its to old? or What am a supose to do?

  2. HELLO,
So try troubleshooting my phone cause it been turning off by itself, I did the resetting, so that leaves the phone good as new, but now it gets stuck while I text or change from one app to the other and then turns off by itself .. what do you think it is or at this point should I just take it in.

  3. my Note 4 Turns Off On Its Own,
While trying to fix the problem I updated the System operation from 5.0.1 to 6.0.1, and wiped the cache and the data, but it didnt helped.
the phone turns off by its own randomaly without any connection to any app that may cause the problem.
the battery itself works proparly and I cant believe that this is the reason for the issues.

    what can I do?

  4. mine shuts down. usually wont restart unless i take out battery and restart. no new apps. happened before and after last update. plugging into charger does not help. how do I clear cache?

  5. my galaxy note 4 restarts at 40% battery if i open any app
but it if i enable “Power Saving Mode” then i does not restart whether i open any app or not
it works perfectly if i enable “Power Saving Mode”,but it restarts if i dont enable “Power Saving Mode” .

  6. How do you start phone in safe mode?

How do you figure out which program is causing the problem?

Does a factory reset lose everything on the phone?
