Note 4 Battery Needs To Be Taken Out To Turn On Phone
Problem: I have a note 4. If my phone dies, i have to take the battery out, wait at the very least 20mins, put the battery in and plug it up the a fast charger, no other charger will work. THEN, i have to let it charge to 100%. If i try to turn it on at 99%, 97%, 95%, or any other %, it dies and I’ll have to wait another, at least, 20mins. THEN once it comes back i on i have to quickly run an app called “WAKELOCK”, or the phone will randomly turn off and if it happens i have to start the process all over again. I would love to figure out what’s wrong just out of curiosity. It’s so weird the things i have to go thru to get it to work. But luckily i like a challenge and refuse to buy a new one. Thanks for your help. Also it’s not the battery i bought a replacement from Samsung and also tried a different brand.
Solution: In most cases where the phone does not turn on unless the battery is taken out then reinserted again the problem is usually caused by a faulty power IC. You should however check if a glitch in the phone software is causing this problem by backing up your phone data then doing a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. If your phone has a microSD card then remove it after the reset. Check if the problem still occurs. If it still does and since you already replaced your phone battery then you need to bring this phone to a service center and have it checked as this is most likely caused by a faulty power IC already.
Note 4 Keeps On Freezing Fingerprint Sensor Not Working
Problem: My note 4 has been freezing and the fingerprint scanner wont wont anymore after i did the software upgrade. I can put in my backup password when unlocking the phone but it seems as though it doesn’t pick up that my finger is touching the scanner.
Solution: The best way to troubleshoot this problem is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If your phone has a microSD card installed then remove it as well before performing the reset as sometimes this card can cause the phone to freeze. If after the reset the phone still freezes and the fingerprint scanner is not working then it’s very likely that this is caused by a faulty hardware component. You need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Keeps On Notifying About Software Update
Problem: Hello, I have the Note 4 and it keeps bringing up a software update. I proceed with the update and as soon as it is done, I receive a message saying a new software update and it just keeps doing this. What can I do to fix this?
Related Problem: Just ordered a note 4. I hooked it up to my service and it says it has a software update. I update it and it restarts. It power back on then says downloading update and then repeatedly does and says the same thing.
Solution: Does the new software update have a different version number from the software installed in your phone? If it is different then this might be an updated software version in which case you should proceed with updating your phone. However, if the software version is the same then this is most likely caused by a software glitch. Listed below are the recommended troubleshooting steps that you need to perform for this particular issue.
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. Check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed to the next step.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 4 Unable To Receive Updates
Problem: I am using Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910F but unable to receive updates for android Marshmallow. Every time I check for update it says “Your system is up to date”. Please help me out in this matter.
Solution: There are several conditions that your phone must meet in order for it to get the official software updates which we have listed below.
- Your phone should not be rooted.
- Your phone should not be running on a custom software.
- If you had your phone unlocked then you need to use it on its original carrier.
If your phone meets the conditions listed above and it is still not getting any updates then you should try to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. After the reset try to update your phone using Kies or Smart Switch.
If your phone still can’t be updated then you should consider manually flashing the firmware update using Odin. You can download the firmware file of your phone from the Sammobile website where you will also find the instructions on how to flash your phone.
Note 4 Unable To Add a Google Account
Problem: HI, i have a samsung note 4. I am unable to add a google account as it says a problem communicating with servers. It’s running on android version 5.0.1. i am unable to update software and firmware as well. thank you
Solution: There are several factors that can cause the inability to add the Google account to your phone. Listed below are the troubleshooting steps that you need to perform to address these factors.
- First, make sure that your phone is connected to a strong and stable Internet connection. Sometimes if the Wi-Fi connection is spotty then you will have a problem adding the Google account to the phone.
- Make sure that the phone has the correct time and date settings. It’s best if you set the phone to acquire these settings automatically from the network.
- Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode,
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete check if you can add your Google account.
In case your phone software still can’t be updated then follow the troubleshooting steps that we provided from the issue above this one.
Note 4 Stuck In Samsung Screen After Interrupted Rooting
Problem: I tried rooting my phone with odin 3 but the battery ran out while it was attempting to reboot and since then it’s stuck on the Samsung startup screen which shuts down before rebooting and keeps booting and keeps shutting down Pls what do I do It’s Note 4 SM-N910H
Solution: Since the rooting process got interrupted then it’s very likely that the phone software got corrupted and is not bricked. The best way to proceed in this case is to manually flash the phone with its updated firmware file. You can download the firmware file of your device from the Sammobile website which should also have the instructions on how to flash your phone.
Take note that your phone data will be erased when you do this procedure so if you don’t want to lose your phone data you can try performing the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Remove the battery and microSD card of your phone. Press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear the RAM. Reinsert the battery then turn on the phone.
- Connect the phone to its wall charger then turn on the phone. If the phone completely boots up then a faulty battery might be causing this problem.
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
Note 4 Turns Off On Its Own
Problem: Hi, My note 4 turns off itself for the past few weeks. At times I have to take out the battery to turn it on . I have tried factory reset also changed the battery. But it still is doing same. Whenever there is a bit of load on the phone it starts freezing and turns off after that.
Solution: Since you already performed a factory reset and also replaced the phone battery which unfortunately doesn’t fix the problem then this could already be caused by a failing hardware component possibly the power IC. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
