A5 Authentication Error When Connecting To Wi-Fi

Problem: hello, i have a samsung galaxy A5. every time i try to connect to a WIFI it says there is an authentication error. it happens with every wifi account no matter where. i’ve tried all the solutions on the internet and nothing worked, including your solution. i went to a laboratory and they didn’t know how to fix this. i did a reset and it stayed the same. please help!!

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this particular case is to make sure that you are typing the password correctly. If you are using a third party keyboard app then it is best to revert back to the stock keyboard app first.

You should also check if the same error occurs when you start the phone in Safe Mode. If you are able to connect to the Wi-Fi network while in this mode then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the issue persists then do a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related problem.

A5 Randomly Restarting Not Turning On

Problem: Hello, i have a problem with my samsung galaxy a5 (2017). For about a week it kept randomly restarting and there was a problem with charging the device. as of now it shut itself off and i cant get it to turn on anymore. i have no clue what to do so i would appreciate some help with this matter. The last time it was on the phone still had power so the battery didn’t die. Im also not sure of which android version i have installed on my device.

Related Problem: my samsung galaxy A5 turned off on its own and now it will not turn back on. It also will not do anything when i plug it in to charge. I took the battery out and when i put it back in without touching anything the samsung screen comes on, it vibrates, and cuts right back off. I got it to restart one time, and cant get it to do it again. i need help!

Related Problem: I have Samsung A5(A500F). i was listening songs and then i put my phone on bed and it was rainy day outside.  After few minutes when i press power key botton it was automatically switched off and won’t turning on. next day i put my phone on changing and i also put my phone in front of sun to give my phone some heat.but still my phone is not responding. plz help me to fix it

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this particular case is to make sure that the battery of the phone has sufficient charge by following the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris present in this port.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger.
  • If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You can also check if the phone charges from a computer USB port.
  • Remove the microSD card of the phone if you have one installed.
  • Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

In case the phone does not turn on then try checking if you are able to access the recovery mode. From here you will need to do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related issue.

A5 Randomly Turns Off

Problem: My phone was working perfectly well until i got a sim only from 3, now it has started turning itself off several times a day and takes about 10 seconds to switch back on everytime and battery drains to empty overnight, no extra apps downloaded, battery seems good, been in to 3 shop but can’t find anything wrong what can i do

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to check if the issue is caused by some software glitch. Try starting the phone in Safe Mode first then check if the issue occurs. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

In case the issue occurs in Safe Mode then you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Check if the issue still occurs after this.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

A5 Not Sending Or Receiving Picture Messages

Problem: Hello, I have a Samsung Galaxy A5 that I bought remanufactured from the T mobile network that I use on Cricket (the power on sequence still states “t mobile” and has their jingle sound still) The talking and internet work great. I can text too. However, I cannot send a text picture, nor receive one either. When I receive one it has a message box to hit and download it, but it does not download. It just gives me a processing bar, then after awhile it goes back to the download button without downloading the picture. I have taken it to both cricket and to t mobile and they have no idea. They repeatedly checked the settings and they are correct. I downloaded a new system (marshmallow I think) and I still have the problem. I have removed the battery and put it back a few times to no avail. Do you have any ideas? Help please! Thanks!

Solution: It’s very likely that the phone has an incorrect APN setting if it is not able to send or receive a picture message. For Cricket the settings are as follows.

  • Name: Internet
  • APN: ndo
  • MMSC: http://mmsc.aiowireless.net
  • MMS Proxy: proxy.aiowireless.net
  • Multimedia Message Port: 80
  • MCC: 310
  • MNC: 150
  • APN type: default,mms,fota,hipri,supl
  • APN protocol: IPv4
  • APN roaming protocol: IPv4
  • Turn APN on/off: ON

To access the APN settings of your phone

  • Tap the Settings icon (on the homescreen or in Apps).
  • Tap Mobile Networks.
  • Tap Access Point Names.
  • Tap the selected APN to edit the current settings for that Access Point.
  • Edit the settings to match the settings listed

A5 Keeps Searching For Service

Problem: My Galaxy A5 will not pick up service, it just stays on searching. This is followed by the area where the sim card slot is gets super hot until I remove the sim card.  have tried clearing the cache, and factory resetting. I have put my sim card into another phone and it works perfectly fine. If you could help solve this issue, it would be very appreciated.

Solution: It looks like this is already a hardware related problem since the part of the phone where the SIM card is located gets hot. You will need to bring this to a service center and have it checked.
