S8+ Black Screen When Unlocked
Problem: I’m facing a problem with my samsung s8+ after applying android oreo update, mobile is functioning fine when it is locked ( it is charging, notifications is displayed, all buttons are responsive and lock screen is displayed) the problem when I try to unlock it I get a black screen and can’t access anything …. I’ve tried “Wipe cache partition” and restarted it many times but same issue still exists. it worked fine couple of times for a few minutes after receiving a call then black screen again. there is more than 20 GB free space. also I checked that all apps are updated. I’ve tried to open it in safe mode and it is working fine. what should I do and how to rollback this update ?
Solution: There have been several reported incidents when a phone displays just a black screen once it is unlocked. There are several factors that can cause this particular problem most of which are related to a software issue. Listed below are the troubleshooting steps that you can do to fix this problem.
- Check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it is most likely caused by an app you installed. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
In case the issue still occurs after performing the steps listed above then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly.
S8+ Screen Flashes Off
Problem: Display screen flashes off and on draining the battery. At&t and costco employees have reset the phone several times. Also, sometimes when the phone is charged, the phone has to be reset or a blue screen comes up with an odd error like we tried to do a custom of change. This phone has never worked right. Since we took it to costco and at&t many times. Our recourse with the store ran out. This is my husband’s phone that I talked him into buying. Since it has never been right, I feel really upset. HELP PLEASE.
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup the phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in the phone just yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this is most likely a hardware related problem already in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S8+ Touchscreen Not Working
Problem: Since this morning, whenever I try to use the phone, the touch works for about 2 seconds and then stops working. But when I close the Screen and before opening I keep my thumb at the portion near the front camera/speaker part pressed and then open the phone, then the touch works fine till I remove my thumb from there. When I remove my thumb, then again the touch stops working. Then to make the touch work for more than 2 sec again, I need to shut the screen off and do the thumb thing again. All the other buttons are working perfectly. Thanks
Related Problem: Top left part of my touchscreen doesn’t respond to touches . It’s dead from there. Also, I’m experiencing ghost touches on my screen. Screen gets touched in random places when I use the phone.
Solution: Does your phone have a screen protector installed? If it does then try removing this as this could affect the sensitivity of the display which might be causing this problem.
If the phone does not have a screen protector installed then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset preferably from the recovery mode.
If the issue persists then this could already be a hardware related problem possibly caused by a faulty digitizer. You will need to have this checked at a service center.
