S7 Wi-Fi Turns Off After It Is Turned On

Problem: When my Wifi is on, the phone immediately shuts the wifi off and says that it can’t connect to an unsecure network (which the wifi at my house has a password on it). Not sure what version my phone has recently upgraded to (I’m assuming Oreo).

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is to try to forget the Wi-Fi network from the phone then connect to it again. You should also check if the problem occurs on only a specific Wi-Fi network. If the issue still persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem. To do this just start the phone in Safe Mode as only the pre-installed apps will be allowed to run in this mode. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Constantly Drops Connection

Problem: I have a Galaxy S7 that has a weird problem. It works fine at my home on wifi and around town on verizon. when I go to my parents house it is a Dead Zone for 99% of mobile networks. My Father has an excellent Internet/Wifi 5G system at home so I just pop onto that, However my phone will constantly drop and reconnect while I am browsing etc. None of their devices-comps, phones, tablets Do this. I tried shutting off my Verizon connection because I thought that it was trying to reconnect to that. Didn’t help. What could be causing this? They both have Galaxy Phones (Sky and Sky Pro). Their bandwidth is like 200 Mbps / 50 Mbps so it’s not a speed problem. WTH could this be?

Solution: This could be caused by some software glitch. To fix this try resetting the network setting of the phone first.

  • From the Home screen go to Apps
  • Tap on Settings
  • Tap on Backup and Reset
  • Tap Reset network settings.
  • Tap RESET SETTINGS.
  • If applicable, enter the PIN, password, fingerprint, or pattern then tap RESET SETTINGS again to confirm.

Once the network settings have been reset try checking if the issue still occurs.

In case the problem persists then perform the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S7 Keeps Switching To 3G Mode

Problem: My S7 is on auto LTE/3G connection mode. However the phone keeps switching to 3G network by its own. I have to then put the phone on flight mode and then back to normal and then I get the 4G+ symbol else it always goes back to H+. This has started recently from a couple of weeks. No updates has been done. Can someone help?

Solution: This issue is usually caused by the network connection in the area. What you will want to do is to check if this same issue occurs when you are in an area that has a strong LTE connection.  Verify this by checking if other devices have a stable LTE signal then check if your phone is just getting a 3G signal.

In case the issue persists then you will have to make sure that the device has the correct APN settings.

You should also consider doing a factory reset on the phone to fix the problem. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

S7 Unable To Connect To Wi-Fi

Problem: So my phone randomly died and became unresponsive while in my pocket while it was around 70% battery life. When I was able to connect it to a phone charger around 5 hours later, it took around 20 minutes for the phone to recognize it was charging (orange light turned on) and it displayed a dead battery. My current issue is that my phone is charging extremely slowly and it is unable to connect to Wi-Fi whatsoever (it displays an error when trying to connect to Wi-Fi and the switch doesn’t turn on/off). What do I do in this situation?

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This will allow you to check if the issue is caused by software glitch. If the issue still occurs after the reset then this is already a hardware related problem in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
