S7 Edge Turns Off When Taking Picture
Problem: Hello – On Monday, my phone started shutting off randomly. I opened the camera to take a picture. Took a picture and it shut off. When it turned back on, the battery was drained substantially. I tried to take another picture, and it did it again. When it turned back on, the battery was at 0%. Yesterday, same thing. Tried twice to take a picture. The battery went from 77% before shutting down the first time. To 40%, then to 0%. Today it did it while trying to snap a picture on Snapchat!
Solution: There’s a possibility that the problem could already be caused by a faulty battery which does not provide the correct power requirements anymore. Since using a camera requires additional power and the battery can’t provide this then the phone will simply turn off. To check if this is the case I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking if the problem still occurs. If it does then you should bring this phone to a service center and have it checked as it might just need a battery replacement.
S7 Edge Carrier Unlock Status After Software Update
Problem: Hi, I would like to ask of some straight advice please before taking any risks. I recently purchased an S7 Edge from ebay, of which i love. The description was noted as unlocked. I presumed this to be open to all carriers in the UK. Which it is. But, upon restarting my phone, it showed the T-Mobile network logo. I would like to update to android 7. When plugging into Samsung Smart switch, it says the update is available. Now my concern is, will installing the update lock my phone again to T-Mobile? I have contacted the seller but have had no assuring response. Any advice or suggestions would be most appreciated as i do not want to be foolish and lock my phone. I hope very much to hear from yourselves.
Solution: If the phone has been carrier unlocked using an unlock code ( which is usually what is done to unlock a device) then the phone will stay unlocked even if you do a software update or even if you perform a factory reset.
S7 Edge Randomly Turning Off
Problem: I have a Galaxy S7 Edge and it keeps turning on and off by itself. The battery can be at 40% and up and it will still shut off and keep rebooting. . I have plenty of memory. Another thing I have noticed is that the battery will not always charge to full. I can plug it in when I go to bed and usually it is at 30% and up and when I wake up, often times it is at 70% or somewhere in that area. I have tried the soft reset many times and it has not resolved my issue. I am not tech savvy and so I have been very hesitant about doing a safe mode boot up or even a factory reset(after backing up my info, pics, numbers, etc of course) due to the fact that I do not want to cause any other potentially more serious issues. I am constantly checking to make sure that all apps are updated as I have noticed that the repeated rebooting happens more often when there are apps that need to be updated. I am also constantly checking the software on the phone to make sure that it is up to date and it still currently is. I’m not sure what to do.
Solution: The best thing to do in this particular case is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. To do this you need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. You should also remove the microSD card if your phone has one installed. Do not install any apps after the reset. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as the problem could already be caused by a faulty battery which needs to be replaced.
