A5 Keeps Freezing
Problem: my phone keeps FREEZING and i have to do the volume down button power button thing several times a day ! this is my SECOND A5 with the same issue, the first one actually factory reset itself! I lost everything! I have removed every app that i don’t use regularly and I am wondering if the problem stems from the power source, the charger itself…?
Solution: One of the most common causes of a phone that freezes is a software glitch which is what we will be checking first. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below to fix the problem. After performing a step immediately check if the issue still occurs and if it does proceed to the next step.
- Sometimes a corrupt microSD card can cause this problem since the phone will have a hard time accessing the data stored in the card. If the phone has a microSD card then try removing it.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could be caused by a faulty hardware component. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
A5 Not Turning On After Getting Wet
Problem: I have a Samsung galaxy A5. I dropped it in a sink full of water and it hasn’t turned on since. I took the SIM tray and checked for water damage but there didn’t seem to be water anywhere in the device. The only thing the device will do is the LED will turn a purple color when it’s charging sometimes. I can’t afford to get it repaired or replaced so I’m trying to fix it on my own, but it seems like it should be working.
Solution: If your phone got wet then it’s most likely that water has entered the device depending on the extent of its exposure to water. What you will need to do in this case is to turn off the phone then place it in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. Rice is a good absorber of moisture and will remove any presence of moisture inside the phone. After 48 hours charge your phone first for at least 20 minutes then turn it on by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
In case the issue still occurs then this is most likely caused by a water damaged internal component. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
A5 Only Works When Plugged To Charger
Problem: As long as my phone is plugged into the charger it works fine. After i unplug it sometimes it’ll be 5 minutes or sometimes it’ll be a hour and it will just start restarting itself 2 or 3 times and the battery will say 0% when it was charged up when i unplugged it and when i plug it back in to the charger it’ll start at 0% and when u turn it on it’ll jump up to like 80 or 90% and act fine as long as i keep it on the charger but as soon as i take it off it starts going crazy again
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. I suggest that you do this while the phone is connected to the charger. This troubleshooting step will allow you to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch. In case the issue occurs after the reset then there’s a possibility that this is caused by a faulty battery. If this is the case then I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
A5 Will Not Fast Charge
Problem: My A5 will not fast charge, when I connect to cable fast charge turns off sometimes I get message saying charging paused. I have tried new battery and new charging port but problem still there I also did factory reset and no help. I also tried to connect to my computer to back up but getting message that device connected has errors and is not recognized
Solution: This definitely sounds like it is caused by a faulty internal component, possibly the power IC. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
