S7 Keeps On Restarting After Software Update
Problem: I have a Galaxy S7 and last night it was set to install an Android update at 3 am. This morning, I noticed the phone continually cycling through restarts. Whenever it has come on, I’m able to see the screen, but none of the apps I click have any functionality – on any app I have clicked I just see the outline of the app and the actual content of the app is blank. After a minute or two the phone automatically restarts on its own. I have been able to get the phone to start in Safe Mode, but am not sure what to do once I’m there to resolve the issue. Thanks in advance for the help!!!
Solution: If the issue is not present in Safe Mode then it’s very likely that the problem is caused by a third party app installed in your phone. You need to find out what app this is and uninstall it. In case you have difficulty finding the app then what you can do is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S7 Not Wirelessly Charging Using GMC Charge Pad
Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S7 will not charge on my GMC 2015 Yukon wireless charge pad. I have tried to get a solution for GMC dealers and Samsung but have not been able to resolve the problem. Is there any possible solution? Would increasing the output of the GM charge coil help? Is this possible? Any solutions you have would be much appreciated
Solution: The first thing that you should do in this particular issue is to verify if your phone charges using the Samsung wireless charger. If it doesn’t then the issue might be with your phone. Do you have a case installed on your phone? Try removing this case as it could interfere with the charging process. You should also check the GMC wireless charge pad if it indeed can charge a phone. If you have another device that wirelessly charges then try to check if it charges with the GMC wireless charge pad.This way you can check if the charge pad really works.
One last troubleshooting step that you should do is to try to increase the output voltage of the charging pad as this has been known to resolve issues such as this.
S7 Lags And Freezes After Nougat Update
Problem: My phone recently updated from marshmallow 6 to nougat 7 and now I’ve been having nothing but issues. Lag and freezing. Now my SD card suddenly stopped working , all my pics are gone . It’s not being recognized and I can’t remount it to format it how do I fix it? Sandisk SD card.
Solution: The first thing you should do in this case is to fix the freezing and lag issue. Remove the microSD card from your phone then check if the phone still freezes. If it doesn’t then the card is causing the problem. If it still freezes then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Moving to the microSD card problem it appears that this card has been corrupted. You should remove the card from your phone and check if it can be read by your computer. You will need a card reader to do this. In case you can access the photos stored in the card using your computer then I suggest you make a backup copy of your files immediately. Once this is done get a new microSD card for your phone. If however the computer can’t access the contents in the card then you should try using some data recovery software such as Recuva to recover the lost files.
S7 Back Key Not Working
Problem: After I have sent a message and want to leave whichever app I am using (primarily WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger) the ‘back’ key does not work, it remains unlit despite me touching it then lights up but doesn’t work, returns to being unlit and then finally works (each stage lasts about 10 seconds) I can not find anything online – any suggestions?? Thanks
Solution: The problem could be caused by a software glitch. Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. If this doesn’t fix the problem then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S7 Notification Panel Freezes
Problem: Hi, I have a Galaxy s7 Active. Great phone, except for one thing. The notification panel keeps getting stuck. That is, it will freeze when it is brought down, sent back up, or I tap on one of the notifications. It is really beginning to drive me crazy. Even when I restart the phone it has this problem. I don’t believe that is caused by any of my third party apps because it was happening when I first got the phone (it is refurbished) before I installed any third party apps . I thought that maybe the issue would go away with the Nougat update but it did not. Please help. Thank you.
Solution: Does the phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing it as this could be causing the problem. You should also consider doing a factory reset then check if the issue still occurs after the reset. Take note that you need to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
If the issue persists even after performing the steps listed above then this is very likely a hardware related issue already. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
