S7 Edge Restarts When Using Rear Camera
Problem: I have a Samsung galaxy s7 edge. Around 4 months ago I started experiencing issues with the main camera, whenever I tried to take a picture an error came up with the following: warning: unknown error occurred. Next thing was the phone making a restart. This error didn’t happen all the time but it was common to have it 1 out of 5 pictures, I notice this started when I upgraded to Nougat. A couple of months ago I bought a new phone and didn’t use the s7 edge. Last week I turn it on and it made a lot of updates but unfortunately every time I take a picture with the camera it restarts the phone with the error mentioned above. No problems to record videos and no problem with front camera. I already receive assistance from Samsung and installed the OS again. Haven’t tried to install previous OS because it shouldn’t be that way. Will really appreciate some help here since I really like my s7.
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to try to flash the previous software version. This way you will be able to check if it is the update that is causing this problem. You can download the previous firmware version from the Sammobile website. You can also get the instructions on how to flash your phone from this website.
In case the issue still occurs even if your phone is running on a previous software version then this is is most likely caused by a faulty camera module. You will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Has White And Purple Horizontal Lines
Problem: Hi there I have an issue with my Samsung S7 edge. There is a white and purple horizontal lines in middle of my screen and underneath the line the screen starts flickering. I’m really upset with this. I’ve seen your forum and thought you could help me out. Please suggest me what to do I’v been using since April 2016…never dropped it down or floor, water either
Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to check if an app you installed is causing the problem. To do this you just need to start the phone in Safe Mode. Check if you still see the horizontal lines when the screen is running in this mode. If the issue does not occur then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
In case the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then you should perform a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
If the issue still occurs after the reset then this could already be caused by a damaged display assembly. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
S7 Edge Is Warm Not Turning On
Problem: My device died last night after about 10 minutes I plugged it in to charge when it was completed I unplugged the device. When i woke up this morning I turned on the device it started booting up 5 minutes later when i took up the device it was warm and screen was black. I had a similar incident a month or two ago and I used the volume down and power key to reboot. Back then the screen was frozen during load up mode. When I try the volume down and power key to reboot nothing happens. My phone still feels warm and won’t turn on. What do I do?
Solution: Since you already tried performing a simulated battery pull the next thing that you should do is to check why the phone is warm. Using another phone try calling your phone. This is just to verify if the screen is just black but the phone is running. In case you can’t contact your phone then it is verified to be turned off.
Try to leave your phone for an hour then check if it is still warm. If it isn’t warm then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
- Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. Try turning on your phone.
- Try charging your phone from a computer USB port. If your phone charges this way then one of the pins of the charging port might be damaged. You will need to have this checked at a service center.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Crashed After System Update
Problem: Shortly after an update my S7 edge crashed. It then went into a constant boot loop. I can’t get it to start in safe mode, it just continues with the boot loop. Trying to delete cache it gets as far as the android logo with the arrows rotating (and a message saying “installing system update” after a few seconds the arrows stop rotating.
Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing it as this might be causing the problem.
In case the problem persists then you will have to perform a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
One last option you should consider if the above steps fails to work is to flash your phone with its updated firmware file. You can get the firmware file from the Sammobile website. This is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.
S7 Edge Facebook Always Appears Online
Problem: Please can u help me with fb – I constantly appear on line when I’ve turned chat off – I’ve uninstalled & ‘reinstalled the app, logged out & back in to fb, deleted my mobile number off fb, logged out of any other devices, trawled the net for answers & I’m up against a brick wall now – what can I Do? Thanks for any help it’s peeing me right off & privacy is compromised
Solution: The best way to fix this problem is to change your facebook password. You will then get an option for you to logout of all devices. Make sure to accept this. Once this is done you can be assured that the only device that is logged on to your Facebook account is your phone.
S7 Edge Keeps On Restarting
Problem: During software update there was an error message saying dsk file is not installed and press any buttons. After I pressed the home button, the phone keeps restarting and shows error and restarts again and then again error.
Solution: If your phone has a microSD card installed then try removing this as this might be causing the problem. If the issue persists then you should consider doing a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this procedure will erase your phone data.
S7 Edge Videos Missing From microSD Card
Problem: we used the samsung 256 micro sd card in our go pro and recorded video.then my husband put the sd card in his phone to try and see the videos. we were not able to view the videos on his phone and now it appears the videos are missing from the sd card as my computer can’t recognize them now either!! my husband says he did not press anything that said reformat the card or anything. he just put it in and went to the place to view pictures but couldn’t
Solution: Try inserting the microSD card to the GoPro then check if the videos can be viewed. If the videos are missing then they might have been erased when the card was inserted in the phone.
