S7 Edge Freezes Restarts After Nougat Update
Problem: Since updating to Nougat my phone has been restarting overnight by itself. Last night it froze halfway through – I woke up at 7 with the phone frozen to 03:12. i had to simulate a battery pull this morning to reset it. It’s been the only issue i’ve had with the phone since getting it in December and only since updating to the new Android. It’s not a massive issue but not having alarms you can trust each day is getting Frustrating.
Solution: Do you have a microSD card installed in your phone? If this card has corrupt sectors then it can cause your phone to freeze or restart. Ty taking out the card then check if the issue still occurs. If your phone does not have a microSD card or if the issue still occurs even after removing the card then this problem is most likely caused by some form of old software data that has not been completely removed during the update. You will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset to fix this problem.
S7 Edge Not Turning On Screen Is Yellowish Green
Problem: my SM-G935FD running nougat 7.0 has been great for the past months that i have had it. but today while i was playing boom beach with HSPDA+ on and using pop chat heads of Facebook messenger. then suddenly the top of the screen turns yellow/green and the phone freezes. so i try and reset it but it wont turn back on. my phone was still hot during this. after i got back home i connected it to the charger but still no led notification that it is charging. i try turning it on a few times. then i tried booting to recovery or safe mode. alas it vibrates but as soon as the screen turns on it starts flickering from the top then the whole screen turns yellowish green. i can’t see anything on the screen cause it’s fully covered with the yellowish green color. so i have at the moment kept the device off and charging it till its full. my phone hasn’t been dropped or damaged in any way, i installed nougat firmware that was assigned to another country but i don’t think that could be the cause of the problem as i have seen others doing it. how do i fix this? please help.
Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this particular case is to make sure that the battery of your phone has sufficient charge. In order to do this try to follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
- Simulate a battery pull by pressing and holding the power and volume down button for a least 10 seconds.
- Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone charges from a computer USB port.
- If you have a wireless charger then try charging your phone wirelessly.
In case your phone turns on but it freezes or the screen has a weird color then I suggest you start your phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this reset will erase your phone data.
If the reset fails to fix the problem then you should consider flashing the original stock firmware file of your phone.
Should the above steps fail to work then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Flashing Blue Light After Software Update
Problem: After latest Update phone started rebooting itself very often, and now the phone won’t turn on. The screen is black but I do have a blue flashing light. I have tried holding the home key, vol up button and power key, home key, vol down button and power key but nothing happens, no sign of life except for the blue flashing light. Phone is only 6 months old wish I had kept my Note 5.
Solution: For this particular problem you will need to simulate a battery pull first by pressing and holding both power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. In most cases the phone will reboot after this procedure. Once the phone has started I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset to prevent any occurrences of this issue in the future.
S7 Edge Screen Is Black Goes To Emergency Numbers
Problem: samsung edge 7, about two month old, got crashed. screen is black. If i try to on , it automatically goes to emergency numbers. I need to fix it immediately.. If I try to reboot, it also goes automatically to emergency numbers.
Solution: It looks like this issue is caused by some software glitch. You will need to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset to fix this problem . Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
S7 Edge Not Fast Charging After Nougat Update
Problem: After updating my s7 edge to nougat, the wireless and wired fast charging in not fast as before..the time shown on screen for fast charging and normal charging is also the same.. around 2 hrs for wireless charging and 1.5hr for wired charging. I the fast charging is activated but still the same… please advise what to do?
Solution: For this particular issue the first thing that you need to do is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. This way you can make sure that the problem is not caused by dirt or debris stuck in the port. Next, try charging your phone using a different charging cord as this cord gets easily broken and the one you are using could be causing the problem. Make sure to use the Samsung charger with an output of 2A when charging your phone.
If the issue still persists then the problem could be caused by some old software data that has not been completely removed. You will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset if this is the case.
S7 Edge Shuts Down When Reaching 15% Battery
Problem: When the phone battery reaches (low battery) 15% it shuts down and when u put into charges it shows that the battery was 0% ! I have a phone for a year now and it’s the first time this happens it used to run fine till even 2% of the battery. Please help
Solution: For this problem I recommend you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is done do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then some software glitch could be causing the problem. If it still occurs then your phone battery might already be faulty. You will have to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.
