S6 Not Responsive After Setting Power Saving Mode
Problem: Hey Droid Guy. I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 and earlier today I put it into power saving mode while it was at 87% power, then clicked the power button and put it away. An hour later I tried using my phone but it was non responsive. The screen is black and the phone does not vibrate when I try to turn it on. I’ve done the power volume down option, as well as the power button hold, a few times but no response. The only response I get is when I plug it in to charge: I feel the vibrate that it usually gives when I plug it in, but the screen remains black. Help! This is my first smartphone and I have been very careful, I have no idea what’s going on!
Solution: Try checking if the problem is caused by the battery not having sufficient charge. To do this you should follow the steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris present in the port gets removed.
- Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes with its wall charger.
- If the phone does not charge then try doing so with another charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port.
- Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
In case the issue remains then try starting the phone in recovery mode then from here perform a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data. If this does not fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related issue.
S6 Stuck In Boot Logo
Problem: HI ,I’ve got an S6 second hand 6 weeks ago. I recently had a x-ray at my hospital and although it was in flight mode it was brought into the room and I’m worried I’ve damaged the phone by it just being in the xray room. I couldn’t make a call so I restart it seemed to work for one day then I couldn’t make or receive phone calls. So I did a factory reset. The phone gets past the boot startup but it gets stuck on the logo which pulses (3 is the provider in the UK). The phone gets really hot I restarted the phone in android recovery mode and wiped the cache partition and did a factory reset and restarted. Same problem – the 3 logo pulsing. Pulled the battery. Downloaded odin and installed the below firmware – which appears to be the latest although there are three other versions.Any advice would be gratefully appreciated
Solution: Since you have already tried flashing the phone using Odin and the issue still persists then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component already. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Not Completing Hands Free Activation
Problem: I recently bought a new unlocked Samsung Galaxy s6. I currently have an iPhone 6 with at&t. When I put my sim card into the Samsung, it tried to complete the hands free activation, but is not able to complete it. I tried turning my wifi off and restarting the phone, but that still didn’t fix the problem. I took the phones to my at&t store, but they were not able to help me because I did not buy the phone from them. They suggested taking it to a third party seller, But I am not sure who to take it to to help fix the problem.
Solution: If the SIM card that you have is properly provisioned with the network then the S6 needs to synchronize with the AT&T network which is what’s called as the hands free activation. The phone will download information from the network so that it will be able to use certain services such as making calls or sending text messages. To complete this action you need to insert the SIM into the phone then restart the device. This process should complete in a minute or two. In case it fails then proceed with the steps listed below.
- Make sure that you have an active mobile data subscription and that the mobile data switch of the phone is on.
- Turn off the Wi-Fi switch
- Make sure that the phone has the correct APN settings.
- Restart the phone.
If the above steps fails to work then you should consider doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
S6 Not Sending Or Receiving MMS
Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 model SM-G920P with Android 7.0 that will not send or receive MMS messages. I have contacted my service provider multiple times and as a consequence am confident my APN settings are good. My WiFi is off. Power saving is off. I have performed a factory reset on the device and a network settings reset. I have cleared the data cache for the messaging app. I still can receive and send only SMS messages. When an MMS message comes in, attempts to download fail. Any idea how to fix this or do I need to trash the phone and buy something else that works?
Solution: Try checking if the phone is able to go online using your mobile data connection alone. If it can’t then this might be what’s causing the problem. Try checking if you have an active mobile data subscription. You should also check if the APN settings of your phone are correct.
S6 Can’t hear Calls Over Bluetooth Headset
Problem: I am using a Galaxy S6 with the latest software installed. About 15 months ago (late 2016) my Bluetooth headset stopped working with my phone. I got the phone new in late 2015 and everything with the phone worked fine. Then one day, out of the blue, the audio on my Bluetooth stopped connecting on a call. At first when I restarted my phone, the issue seemed to go away. It kept reappearing and eventually a phone restart no longer solved the issue. I researched online and found someone with a similar issue who said to disable google voice. That seemed to work one time, but the problem reappeared. I gave up trying and decided to live with the issue. Here is what I currently experience: when I make a phone call with my Bluetooth headset connected, I hear a beep when the call initiates, but I hear no ring and I can’t hear the other person when they answer, nor can they hear me. I am able to hear music and videos through Bluetooth, but not phone calls. I have been hoping that software updates will fix the issue, but The issue still exists after over a year do frustration. Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.
Solution: You should try unpairing the phone from the Bluetooth device then pair with it again. If this doesn’t work then you should try clearing the cache and data of the Bluetooth service from the application manager.
S6 No Mobile Network
Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy s6 that uses Verizon towers for Straight talk. When I am in certain areas, I have full service bars, Wi-Fi, and it shows 4G LTE. For some reason it will not make calls or send/receive messages. It says there is no mobile network.
Solution: Try checking if this issue occurs on a specific area or if it occurs when you are in other areas. If it’s only on one area then this might be an issue with the network towers.
In case the issue occurs in other areas then try switching to the different network modes of the phone.
- From the Home screen go to Apps – Settings – Mobile Networks.
- Tap Network mode.
- Try Global, LTE/CDMA, LTE/GSM/UMTS
