S6 Gets Hot When Charging

Problem: hi, i have a s6 galaxy and it doesnt turn on  at all. everytime i plug it in the charger the phone where the motherboard is at get extremely hot. it doesn’t charge or turn on either.

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to isolate the charger since this could be causing the problem. To do this just clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then use a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone.

In case the phone still gets hot then it’s very likely that there is a shorted circuit in the device or the battery could be faulty. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Intermittent Charging

Problem: Been having trouble charging for some time now… First noticed the phone beeping off and on while sleeping. (Charge/no charge beep) I thought it might be the USB port but wiggling did not exactly reproduce the problem. Tried several cables and chargers to no avail. Sometimes it charged OK sometimes not. Finally took the phone to Batteries Plus and they changed the battery. Same problem… Took it back and they then told me I had a bad cable as it showed low charging current. (usually below 0.2a) I *thought* their new super heavy duty cable seemed like it worked for about 2 weeks. (but I had no way to measure the current to verify how well it worked) Took it back again and ended up buying my own USB current/voltage meter, inductive charger and all new cables. Well the results are that the USB port rarely charges over 0.5a and is usually around 0.2a The inductive charger will sometimes charge at 0.9a (I believe that is its maximum capacity) but usually drops down to around 0.19a But sometimes the phone will not even know it is setting on the inductive charger no matter how much I move it around!!! (even without the protective case) Phone turned off makes no difference. Different power supplies makes no difference. I’m thinking it is no longer just a bad USB port connection. Is there a charging circuit inside the phone that is probably bad and is easily replaced? Google is usually my friend but there is just too much noise in the responses to actually learn anything (sigh – everyone just suggests the same 3-4 solutions that I have already tried)

Solution: There are two possible causes for this particular problem. First, the charging port assembly could be faulty. Second, the power IC of the phone is not working properly. Both components can be easily replaced at a service center.

S6 Not Charging Or Turning On

Problem: I have a Samsung galaxy s6 that wouldn’t charge or come on. I bought a new battery that had charge and had it inserted it into the phone still nothing happened. What do you think could be wrong with my phone? I would think if the problem was the charging port, shouldn’t a fully charged battery turn on?

Solution: If the battery that you replaced on the phone has charge but the phone does not turn on then some other component inside the phone is not working which is why it will not charge or turn on. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Battery Gets Drained When Charging

Problem: Hello Sir, I have a samsung s6 for 3 years and recently i noticed a problem with the battery. When i charge the phone, it shows charging normally but instead of charging it drains off. Usually if i charge it for 1 hour fully i can use it for more than one day but now it drains off too quickly and i need to charge it several times. I also noticed that it shows different % charge. If i put on charge it shows for example 10% and then 90% after 10 mins. I have changed the battery and reset the phone but in vain. Can you please help me?

Solution: If you have already replaced the battery and even did a factory reset which does not seem to fix the problem then it’s very likely that this is caused by a faulty component inside the phone. The best way to pinpoint this component is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Shuts Down Does Not Start Unless Connected To Charger

Problem: My S6 randomly shuts down and will not restart until I connect to a power source. The battery is always above 50% when this happens. When I plug in a power supply the screen light up showing battery power, then I can use the power button to start the phone

Solution: There are two possible reasons why this issue is happening. It’s either the phone has a bad battery or the power IC is faulty. Since this is a hardware related problem which requires the phone to be opened then it’s best to have this checked at a service center.

S6 Stuck In Boot Logo Even When Charged

Problem: Hi, I did a factory reset on my Samsung Galaxy S6.  Now, it just shows me the start screen, i.e. black screen with “Samsung Galaxy S6 powered by android” on display until it loses its charge.  Then when I charge, the screen shows again and I can’t do anything with it.  Hope you could help.  Thanks a lot in advance!

Solution: Try accessing the recovery mode of the phone then wipe the cache partition of the device from here. Follow this up with a factory reset. If the issue persists then this is most likely caused by a faulty internal component. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
