The #Samung #Galaxy #S6Edge got its name because of the curved edge display that it uses. While there were not a lot of phones using this kind of display in 2015 when this device was released today you will see it in most flagship devices. This model is quite similar to the S6 with the difference only on the display type. Although a lot of people are using this phone as their reliable daily driver there are instances when certain problems can still occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S6 Edge stuck in Samsung logo after charging overnight issue & other related problems.

S6 Edge Stuck In Samsung Logo After Charging Overnight
Problem: Hello, I have a galaxy s6 edge. I charged it overnight and when i woke up and tried to use it, the black screen with the Samsung galaxy s6 edge logo was blinking along with the blue notification light. I have tried different cord, plug in computer, i can get into the menu if i hold power and volume down button but the only thing that works is if i turn the phone off, it stops blinking. All the other options nothing happens.
Solution: The first thing that you should do right now is to simulate a battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding the power button and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then perform the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in it gets removed.
- Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a charging cord and wall charger that has been tested to work on another device. If it doesn’t charge try using different charging cords and wall chargers.
- Try turning on the phone.
- If the phone does not turn on then try starting it in recovery mode. From here perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Not Connecting To LTE Network
Problem: My aunt sent me her phone for me to make use of it. The phone is Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. As soon as I received the phone, I updated the handset to Nougat via System Settings. I searched the net and found out that this device from Verizon is “unlocked”, so I bought a local LTE SIM card and inserted it to the phone. My location is covered by LTE and the bands are fine as well. The APN settings wasn’t updated automatically, so I added it manually (browsed the net for the recent LTE settings). Upon testing it, I can’t connect to the LTE network, but HSPA+ or 3G only. My aunt sent 2 phones and I applied the same settings I applied to the S6 Edge to the S5 (still Verizon but replaced it with a local SIM card). S5 instantaneously connects to the LTE Network. How can I possibly fix this LTE issue on my S6 Edge?
Solution: For this particular issue I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Make sure to check that the APN settings are correct then check if you can connect to the LTE network. If the issue persists then take out the SIM card that is in the S5 then insert it in the S6 Edge. This allows you to check if the SIM you are using is causing this problem.
S6 Edge Not Turning On After Getting Wet From The Rain
Problem: i was working in the rain and i noticed my phone didn’t turn on i’m guessing moisture so i put it on charge it turned on and then off, did this a few times, so it only turns on with charger, if i click the on/off button when it has no charger nothing happens and know if i put it on charge it stays on loading screen and cuts off please help.
Solution: If your phone got wet then the best thing to do right now is to make sure that the phone is dry. Wipe the exterior with a cloth. Once this is done place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. Once this is done try to turn on the phone. If the issue persists then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Screen Is Dim After Drop
Problem: I have a Galaxy s6 edge, i’ve dropped my phone a couple times, the most recent time the display is very dim, and there’s a white bar at the bottom of the screen. Occasionally the screen will brighten all the way but mainly stays dim.
Solution: What you will want to do in this case is to turn off the automatic brightness feature of the phone then manually set the brightness setting to its maximum level. If the issue persists then it’s possible that the display has been damaged from the drops that the phone has suffered. The best thing to do right now is to have this checked at a service center.
S6 Edge Not Turning On After Software Update
Problem: I had this phone since 2015. Then passed it to my son recently because I upgraded my phone. Last night, he said there was an update and says “Downloading do not turn off target” so he left it while charging overnight. This morning he told me it’s not turning on. I tried using different cable but to no avail. Tried the soft and hard reset but nothing. The last thing I tried was my wireless charger, there was the blue light on the charger but none on the phone. Left it an hour on it then when I touched it it was hot but still did not turn on
Solution: For this particular issue you will need to simulate a battery pull first by pressing and holding the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then try starting the phone in recovery mode. If your phone starts in this mode then you will have to do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Black Screen Of Death
Problem: First, thank you for your website. Its awesome for those that are awful at technology. Secondly my S6 edge has the black screen of death. I’ve tried multiple things, Power Button + Down Vol , Power Button + Both volume buttons and simply turning it off and on. It still works as the lights work, the buttons are responsive, my garmin watch is still receiving my text messages and it shows that it is connected via bluetooth to my watch. There weren’t any issues that I noticed last night. I played a video on my phone (from photo gallery) that I fell asleep watching then this AM it was just BLACK. Any help is appreciated. THANKS!
Solution: Try starting your phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then you should perform a factory reset as the problem could be caused by a software glitch. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
In case the above step fails to fix the problem then the phone might already have a damaged display. You will need to bring this to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Bootloop After Installing Nougat
Problem: After installing the nougat firmware, my phone entered bootloop, though i installed the stock firmware and tried other firmware of my SM-G925I, it’s still not working
Solution: If you have already tried flashing your phone with a different firmware and the issue still persists then this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component possibly the power IC. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
