S6 Edge Does Not Charge Anymore
Problem: Hi, I have a Samsung galaxy s6 edge and it doesn’t charge anymore. I tried to follow all the tips I found here but nothing works. The phone died and I have tried with several chargers that I know work and a wireless one as well, but it’s still completely dead. I tried the full reset but since the phone is dry even that doesn’t work. I don’t know if there was an update recently that could have caused it. This happened yesterday (June 5,2017). Do you know some other way I could try? I am prepared to buy a new phone but there is some really important pictures on the phone that I need.
Solution: What you should do first in this case is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air as sometimes dirt or debris stuck in the port can prevent the phone from charging.
In case the phone still does not charge try using a different charging cord and wall charger.
You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port. If it charges this way then one of the pins of the charging port might be damaged in which case you will need to have this checked at a service center.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then the battery of the phone might already be faulty. Have this checked first at a service center. If the battery has gone bad then you just need to have this replaced in order for you to access your phone data.
S6 Edge Stuck In Boot Logo
Problem: the problem was may s6 edge is stuck on boot loop. the samsung service center said that it needs board replacement but it cost half of the original price of s6 when it first came out. is there any other way to fix it? is rooting a solution?
Solution: If the Samsung service center has ruled that the problem is caused by a defective board then the technician might have already checked the other possible factors that can cause this problem. Rooting the phone will not fix this problem.
Before proceeding with the board replacement you need to perform the troubleshooting steps listed below which might fix the problem.
- Connect the phone to a charger then perform a restart. Does the phone still get stuck on the boot logo? If it doesn’t then the battery might be faulty.
- Check if you can start the phone in recovery mode. From here you should wipe the cache partition of the phone then perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
S6 Edge Turned Off After Receiving A Call
Problem: I have just received a call using my Samsung S6 edge, I put the phone down and suddenly it turned off and since then wouldn’t come back on I am unsure of what to do. The phone is about 14 months old, It is not damaged in any form until this happen
Solution: It’s very likely that the battery might just have ran out of charge. Ty charging the phone first for at least 20 minutes then check if it turns on. If the phone does not charge then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed.
- Try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger.
- Check if the phone charges from a computer USB port.
Once the phone has sufficient charge disconnect it from the charger then simulate a battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down keys for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Is Unresponsive After Getting Wet
Problem: Hi I’m on holiday and briefly dropped my phone in the loo. I immediately pulled it out and dried it with a towel and then left it out in the warmth to dry out. The phone was unresponsive and dead as soon as I picked it from the loo. The lens on the back has been steamed up for a couple of days and today (third day) it has cleared. I don’t have any rice so haven’t done anything else apart from drying it with a hairdryer. I’ve tried to charge it, nothing happens and I’ve tried pressing start up button and down volume together, nothing. I’ve checked in the sim tray and can’t see any pink /red spot. I also can’t take the battery out or pull the phone apart due to the nature of its design. I’m gutted and wondering what I can do. I’m not back home for another week. Thanks for any help you can give
Solution: One of the disadvantages of this particular model is that it does not have any waterproofing feature. In case the phone gets in contact with water then chances are the internal components might get damaged.
Ideally, if your phone gets wet you will want to dry it out first by wiping it with a dry cloth. This takes care of the liquid outside of the phone. As for the liquid or moisture that could be present inside the phone you can use a hair dryer or place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. Since you already tried drying the phone which doesn’t fix the problem then it’s very likely that a component inside the phone has been water damaged. The best way to proceed right now is to have the phone checked at a service center.
S6 Edge Battery Drains While Charging
Problem: Battery drained in front of me while charger was plugged in. Now phone does not charge, it recognizes the charger plugged in but no charge
Solution: Try using a different charging cord and wall charger then check if the issue remains. If the problem persists then the problem could be caused by a faulty battery. If this is the case then you need to have this checked at a service center.
S6 Edge Will Not Update
Problem: I bought an S6 Edge recently and when doing a check for updates in settings, it won’t update my OS from 5.1 to 6. It says my software is up to date. I see a Marshmallow Upgrade icon on the desktop and tapping that gets me into a play store to install the upgrade, but after it shows my system information and I tap Install, it says “ERROR!!! Your Device Is Not Compatible”. Do you have any ideas for what is wrong? Thanks.
Related Problem: Hello, I have a Samsung galaxy s6 edge. I have been trying to update it to android nougat but it says it already has the latest updates installed. My brother also has a s6 edge and his one has the nougat update. I am on o2 and he is on giffgaff. I have tried many different sim cards including giffgaff but I still cannot update it. Can you help me out here? Kind Regards
Solution: In order for the phone to get the official updates it must first meet several conditions which I have listed below.
- The phone must not be rooted.
- The phone must not be running on a custom software.
- If you had the phone unlocked then it should be running on its original network in order for it to access the update servers.
In case your phone meets the conditions listed above and it is still not getting the update then you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete update the phone using Kies or Smart Switch.
If the above step fails to update your phone then you should consider flashing the updated firmware file using Odin. You can download the firmware file from the Sammobile website where you will also get the instructions on how to flash your phone.
