S6 Edge Got Wet Does Not Turn On

Problem: Hello, My Galaxy S6 edge  fell into the toilet – I immediately dried the phone as much as possible and put it into a container of rice and closed it. I left it for about a day and a half. It wouldn’t turn on at first so I plugged it in the charger – it turns on and stayed on for a couple of minutes and then turned off again. This happened about 3 times. It then turned on and worked as normal for about 5-10 minutes. It then turned off and won’t turn back on. I checked some of your help pages and saw the suggestion to look for a pink coloured sticker in the sim tray and I don’t see anything pink. Do you have any ideas? My husband is confident to give anything a try if you could suggest some YouTube videos or parts we could try to replace? (I don’t know which Android version I have at the moment – I was alerted to an update just before this happened, but I didn’t get chance to do it) Thank you in advance.

Solution: If you have already placed the phone in rice and checked at it no longer has any moisture or water present but then the phone still does not turn on then it’s very likely that the phone has been water damaged. A component in the phone might have suffered a short circuit. The best way to proceed in this case is to have the phone checked at a service center.

S6 With History Of Water Damage Randomly Restarting

Problem: Hi guys. Great site you have here! I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge that I bought from a friend two years back. The phone has been in a bucket of water before I got it, but been repaired and work perfectly until new year’s eve 2017. Then it suddenly turned itself of. When i plugged it in the charger it got stuck in a reboot loop. I went to the local mobil doctor and got the battery changed, and for three weeks it worked fine. But last week it went black again, and all the old problems were back. Just not as strong as before. It stays on for about two hours before suddenly turns itself off, and when i plug in the charger it enters the reboot loop. Then an android update last night made it somewhat better. Now it can charge without looping, and can stay on for a couple of hours. Put suddenly it just turn itself off, and i have to restart it. But no reboot loop this time. Do you guys have any tips on what it might be? I really can’t afford a new phone at the moment. I read somewhere that it might be the power ic that needs replacement, but don’t want to invest too much money in it if it’s just broken. The guarantee went down the drain (or bucket), and i have tried to factory reset it, and wipe the cache, but no luck. Greetings from Norway.

Solution: Since you have already performed a factory reset on the phone then this is most likely a hardware related problem already. It’s possible that the power IC is faulty however there’s also the possibility that another component is causing the problem. The best thing you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked so that the exact component that is causing this problem can be pinpointed.

S6 Black Unresponsive Screen

Problem: Blank and unresponsive screen. I held my phone in my hand while walking on the road and reaching my destination to fine that my phone is blank and unresponsive. At first, i thought the battery was drained, so i had to charge the battery. Latter, i noticed that the notification light blinks and calls come in but i can not answer these calls nor view these notifications because the screen is blank and does not respond. How do I sort this issue as it is 3 days already and nothing has improved? And lest I forget, the phone had once fell from a table but kept working after that

Solution: The best way to proceed in this case is to start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data. If the issue persists then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related issue.
