LG G6 Not Turning On After Software Update

Problem: Hi, I just received a LG G6 HD870DS. when I initially turned it on, everything was working fine. I added in my Google account, install all apps, set up fingerprint and everything. Then I downloaded the software update, I also put in the Sim and microSD card. The phone turned off immediately and I can’t turn it on since. The Battery was at 40% (new phone while charging). I tried everything on one of your article, it still doesn’t work. I cannot see any light from the phone. There is nothing happen despite I am charging it and tried everything.

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this particular case is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris trapped in the port is removed.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its original charger.
  • Before turning on the phone remove the SIM card and the microSD card.
  • If the phone does not turn on then try charging it again for another 20 minutes but this time use a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging your phone from a computer USB port.
  • Check if you are able to access the recovery mode. From here you need to do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

LG G6 Car Bluetooth Not Reading Text Messages

Problem: Having some Bluetooth issues with my new LG G6..

1) My 2014 Kia Soul head unit has an option for reading SMS messages that works great on my old Samsung S5, but will not work for the G6. All settings (enabling media and audio for Bluetooth, voice output ok’d, etc) are the same. I am able to have phone calls go thru the head unit with no issue.

2) Google Assistant cannot be heard thru the Bluetooth system at all.  It will pick up the OK Google request and will type out a response when applicable, but no voice response. Pretty worthless having a hands free assistant if you can’t use it hands free

Solution: Try unpairing your phone and car Bluetooth connection then pair it again. Check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed with the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Make sure your phone and car Bluetooth device are running on the latest software version.
  • Check your phone setting. Settings – Sound & Notification – Message/call voice notifications – Read caller info and messages out loud  ON – Read messages – Read messages out loud  ON.
  • Try to check if the issue occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

LG G6 Screen Auto Rotation Not Working

Problem: I recently purchased the LG G6. The first phone I had to send back because the phone portion was not working along with the auto rotate. I received my second phone and the screen auto rotation is still not working. Is there a glitch in the system or is there something else I can do to it?

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to make sure that the auto rotation setting of the phone is properly set.

  • From a Home screen go to  Settings then Accessibility.
  • Tap the Auto-rotate screen switch to turn on

If this setting is already on and the issue still persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely a hardware related issue already in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

LG G6 Not Connecting To Wi-Fi

Problem: Bought the g6 2017 model today and for some reason it’s not allowing me to connect to the wifi after supplying username/ password after clicking next. Not sure of the OS. It was already reset and all I had to do was put my SIM card in and connect to wifi.

Solution: Try connecting your phone to a different Wi-Fi network. This way you can check if the issue is caused by the phone or by the router that you are connecting to. If the phone can connect to a different Wi-Fi network then you will need to check your router settings. In case the phone still can’t connect to a different Wi-Fi network then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try connecting to a Wi-Fi network. If  the issue persists then I suggest that you have this checked at a service center.
