Note 5 Screen Only Responds To S Pen
Problem: I have a samsung galaxy note 5 in excellent condition. It was dropped and after that I can only use the pen on my screen, meaning it does not respond to my fingers at all. I did a reset but since the phone is not paid off, will be in 2 weeks, I cannot do a full factory reset default. What could be wrong with my phone. I could send it to Samsung but they will charge me megabucks, already spoke with them and tried all the stuff suggested online. Then I found you. I hope you can help.
Solution: It’s very likely that the drop has damaged the digitizer of the phone responsible for the finger touch input. The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to have the phone repaired at a service center as the digitizer is most likely damaged.
Note 5 Retrieving Data When Screen Is Broken
Problem: Thank you for taking your time to read this. I’ve read previous posting you’ve had on how to retrieve pics and such from a note 5 with a broken screen that doesn’t power on. The problem I have is when you mention clicking on things on the phone once it’s connected to a computer. My questions are how can I click on things when I don’t see anything on the phone screen? I’ve plugged it into the lower cable and it looks like it’s charging from the red power for. But when I push the key side button to turn it on, nothing happens. So I’m lost in how to do the steps on the phone you’ve suggested. I welcome all and any ideas. Thank you for your time.
Solution: If the screen is totally black and no working then it’s going to be difficult to retrieve the data stored in the phone even if you connect it to a computer. What you will want to do first is to have the display of the phone repaired or replaced then once this is done you will be able to access the data stored in your phone.
Note 5 Freezes Then Restarts
Problem: I have a Note 5 phone which surely i cant remove its battery. Some months ago, the phone started to heat up a lot, freezes and sometimes restarts by itself. i have taken it to many cell stores without success even after a factory reset. it works for a while then goes back to the same prob. i have stopped the automatic updates of the apps. After freezing i do a hard restart..it works for some time then stops back.
Solution: If the issue keeps on repeating even after a factory reset then this is most likely caused by a faulty hardware component already. The best thing that you can do in this particular case is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 5 Screen Not Turning On After Drop
Problem: I had dropped my phone , but the screen don’t have any crack. My phone able to turn on, but just with the blue light notification on, but the screen won’t be able to on. Is there any fix for it.
Related Problem: I just got a Note 5 this morning i dropped it. It got a small crack in the corner near the power button, hardly noticeable. Then when I went to turn the screen on, it doesn’t light up. The touch functions don’t work, but I was listening to music when it happened and it was still playing. If I hit the power or home button, it flashes a variety of colors, but I can’t use anything and it just goes back to black.
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to try a simulated battery pull first. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If the issue persists then you should check if the screen works when the phone is started in recovery mode. If it does then you will have to do a factory reset in this mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
