Note 5 Apps Keep Crashing
Problem: I have a Galaxy Note 5 U.S Cellular version but i live in Europe so i have a rooted phone. After i did a factory reset many problems got with apps and battery draining fast. Instagram crashes a lot,Youtube don’t show options more than 1080p, s health won’t open because its rooted. So im asking what i can i do? Thanks
Solution: If you are experiencing a problem with only one app then the best troubleshooting step is to uninstall the app then install a fresh version from the Google Play Store. Since it looks like you are having a problem with multiple apps then you should proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Update your phone software to the latest version.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset has completed do not install any apps in your phone. Try checking first if the issue still occurs.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should consider flashing the phone with its updated firmware file using Odin. You can get this file from the Sammobile website which should also have the instructions on how to flash your phone.
Note 5 Stock Email App Crashes
Problem: I cannot open an email message with the stock email client. I have a Note 5 Android 7 (nougat) & this problem just started today. I’ve tried the obvious quick fixes like force stopping the app & clearing the cache. I’ve even cleared app data thereby removing all email accounts & then re-adding the email accounts. The stock email client seems to work fine until I try to open an email message, then the app simply closes. Trying to reply to a message or composing a new message also causes the stock client app to close. I think the problem might be involved with the Android System Webview and Chrome browser in some way. I’ve tried updating & then disabling both Android System Webview and Chrome but stock email client responds the same way. My phone is up to date. Any ideas?
Solution: If your phone is already running on the latest software version and this issue occurs then you should try starting the phone in Safe Mode and check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then you should consider doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
Note 5 Gmail Email Not Working
Problem: This week my Samsung Note 5 phone stopped receiving emails in my phone’s EMAIL account from Gmail. This email account had been set up to receive emails from my Gmail account “[email protected]”. I removed this email account & tried to re establish it, but each time after entering my above email address & password I got the message from Gmail “unable to connect to server to verify your account information. No response from server”. Can you explain why this is happening now & provide a solution. (I should add that “[email protected] is my only email address & I don’t use an email client service but simply access gmail directly & I do have GMail synced to my phone. In other words in the past I was able to access & send emails on my phone from both platforms i.e. the synced GMail direct account & the synced Email [email protected] account, but the latter suddenly stopped receiving emails yesterday & now can’t be established due to the “unable to reconnect to server—-” message from Gmail referred to above.. I’d be interested in learning why my phone’s EMAIL account stopped receiving my Gmails yesterday & if there is a way I can establish the account & have both platforms operative.
Solution: The first thing that you need to do is to verify if you can open the email from a browser. You can use Google Chrome on your computer to open your Gmail email. If you are able to access the email account then the issue could be on the phone side. Try using the official Gmail app to access your Gmail email. If the issue persists then make sure to check if the two factor authentication of the account is active as you will have to use the Google Authenticator app to access your email.
In case you want to use another email app to access your Gmail email then make sure that the settings are correct.
