LG G5 Camera Takes Pixelated Photos After Software Update

Problem: I performed my last update on 1/26/18. Since that time my camera takes pixelated shots. My gallery does not show all my pics, just some blank frames. You can edit the pic and it will change to perfect shot but the edit will not allow you to save.

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to try to clear the cache and data of the camera app as well as the gallery app from the application manager. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs. If it does and since this issue occurred right after a software update then it is very likely caused by old software data that has not been completely removed from the phone. The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

LG G5 Camera Photos Are Black With Exclamation Mark

Problem: My friend took some photos on my phone in the dark whilst fishing and the pictures have come up with a black screen and a triangle with an exclamation mark in the middle, I have gone on the details and it says flash did not fire and the picture resolution is -1x-1, he took around 30 pictures and only 3 came out, I have recently restarted my phone and now all the pictures have gone including the ones which were OK, all my other photos are ok

Solution: Do you have a microSD card installed in the phone and are the photos automatically stored in this location? If they are then the problem could be caused by a corrupted sector in the card. Try using a different card in your phone then check if the issue still occurs.

In case your phone does not have a microSD card or if the issue still occurs even when the card is removed then try the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clear the cache and data of the camera and gallery app from the application manager.
  • Check if the issue occurs in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

LG G5 Camera Video Has No Sound

Problem: I have an LG G5 this is actually a replacement for the 1st one I purchased on 6/13/17 I have a brand new 32 mb memory card and an internal memory of 32 with only slightly over 10 used I am having intermittent problems with the camera. After purchasing a new memory card I recorded a video yesterday and when I went to play it back it had no audio I recorded several others within a 30 minute time period and all those had audio It gets weirder Today I recorded video and when I went to play it back there was nothing!! No blank space no error message it was as though I had not recorded anything However the video from the previous day suddenly had audio when played back I took several test videos this evening and they were fine. This is NOT my first Android smartphone and had never experienced any problems using the video option or audio or any of the problems I am experiencing now. Now I have a brand new replacement phone same model and doubtful it is a factory refurbished phone as it has not been out long enough It appears to be brand new with a brand new battery and memory card I am very concerned that this may be a common problem with this phone and it being so new has not been widely reported yet I prefer not to have to exchange again but there is clearly something wrong with the camera function I hope you can help I am not a technical person but it is pretty hard to screw up recording a video and then the very first video had no audio but today it does Pleas I hope you can help I do not wish to deal with the retail store where I purchased it,let it suffice to say that I am filing a lawsuit against them and there is zero customer service Sorry this was so long Thanks

Solution: To troubleshoot this problem try changing the default storage location of the camera to the internal storage of the phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by a faulty microSD card in which case you should replace this with a new one. If the problem persists then backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Check if the issue still occurs after the reset. If it does then you should have this checked at a service center.
