This model is the bigger version of the S8 with a display size of 6.2 inches. Because of its large Super AMOLED display the phone is also able to fit in bigger 3500 mAh battery. Most of the other hardware components of this device are similar to that of the S8. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8+ charges slow after software update issue & other related problems.

S8+ Charges Slow After Software Update
Problem: I just updated my software yesterday and every since my device charges slow. I’ve bought a new charger piece i even used my adapter and its still on slow charging. I made sure that the fast charger was on and that was not the problem..i see now i’m just gonna have to ignore the software updates if i’m not able to charge my phone fast.I NEED this problem fixed asap.
Solution: If this issue occurred right after you installed a software update to the phone then you are not alone in experiencing this problem as several others have also reported this issue. It appears that the security patch is the culprit. The good news is that another recently released update has fixed this problem. You should manually check for any new updates then apply them to your phone. This should fix the problem.
S8+ Black Screen
Problem: Just to let you know that I spent the day, sickened by my black screen on my S8+ (only a few weeks old). I thought it was after leaving the fast charger cord connected over night (too long). I tried to recharge the phone to see if that was the problem without success. I opened your site and Yeap, the two button reboot worked as stated. I hope Samsung is working on software update to solve this problem.
Solution: In most cases a simulate battery pull which is done by pressing the power and volume down buttons will fix the problem. In case this problem occurs frequently then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset as the issue could be caused by a software glitch.
S8+ Keyboard Keeps Popping Up
Problem: My keyboard pops up and I can’t get it off or do anything. The only way to get it off is to turn my phone off and on. That lasts until the next time it happens which could be an hour or more. I never know. Please help me fix it. Thank you!
Solution: To fix this problem you should try clearing the cache and data of the keyboard app from the application manager. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue still occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded since only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run in this mode. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S8+ Screen Is Black
Problem: i have black screen. I get calls and messages. the phone is on but the screen is black. I have tried the reset option holding the volume down key and power button I feel the vibration and see the blue LCD light and sometimes green but I don’t see anything on the screen so i keep holding down those keys and the vibration keeps repeating but still black screen. can’t do the safe mode cos I cant see to turn phone off plus or select any options for safe mode
Related Problem: When I unplugged my phone from the charger there was a quick flash of a few white lines across the top of the screen. It then went back to solid black. The phone is on as my alarms still work, going off as usual and the only way to to pause them is to press the Home key. I did your first step for black screen of death. That did at least give me something on the screen: a splotchy greenish blue screen that is only readable at the top few lines. Could not continue with other suggestions as I could not see the appropriate selection to cache, etc. Would appreciate any assistance. Thank you.
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to start the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then I recommend that you do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
In case the issue persists then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this is most likely a hardware related problem already.
S8+ Not Charging Not Turning On
Problem: Hi there. I am hoping that you can help. So I got the Samsung Galaxy S8+ from a friend . It was working fine and everything, normally I put my phone on charge at night, but when I took it the next morning, it wasn’t fully charged, and later that day, it turned completely off, and doesn’t want to charge, when plugged into the charger, the phone doesn’t come on, no lights, nothing. I am not using the original charger.
Solution: To fix this problem the first thing that you need to do is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Next, charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger. If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port. Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
