Samsung Galaxy S8 Charges Very Slow Issue & Other Related Problems

The first thing that you will notice is its Super AMOLED display which measures at 5.8 inches. This might seem large but in fact the footprint of the phone is similar to the S7. The other outstanding features of this phone include its Snapdragon 835/ Exynos 8895 processor with 4GB of RAM, 12MP dual pixel camera, USB Type C connector, and its 3000 mAh battery. Although this is a solid performing phone there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S8 charges very slow issue & other related problems.

S8 Charges Very Slow

Problem: My galaxy s8 charges up super slow and tells me to use the original charger which, btw, I do. It’ll be on the charger all night and still not be 100% by morning. It will be 50 to 70%. Also, the charge only lasts a few hours. Btw, I was in Florida over the holidays, and my phone held the charge all day. I didn’t need to use the extra mini charger in my purse. I find it odd that the phone performed better while we were out of town.

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port. Once this is done try charging the phone with its wall charger. In case the issue persists then proceed with the steps listed below.

  • Try using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • Check if the problem is caused by a software glitch by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Freezes

Problem: Three times in the past month my phone has not come on when I push the home button and I had to use the volume and power button to unfreeze it. Once it happened when it was low on charge, another time it had half a charge and last night it had a full charge and was plugged into the wall overnight. It’s caused my alarm to not go off and I woke up to find a Frozen phone

Solution: Do you have a microSD card installed in your phone? If you have then try removing this as this might be causing the problem. In case you don’t have a card installed or if the issue still occurs even with the card removed then proceed with the steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. Does the problem occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S8 Facebook Photos Don’t Load

Problem: I have Samsung galaxy s8 brand new phone. I just bought this phone in last month i.e December 2017. My Facebook app is not working properly. The issue is when I open any post which has number of pictures in it and do like the picture, page becomes completely blank or scroll up. so either I have to exit that post and open again same post or scroll down which is too much annoying when you are on post which has 100 pictures in it and want to like the picture. I already try app cache clear, soft reset, disable app, remove app but none of them work. I am really frustrated now feeling regretting that why I bought Android phone when I was iOS user and never had such issue.

Solution: Try checking if the issue occurs when your phone is connected to a different Wi-Fi network, This way you will be able to check if this is a connection related problem. In case the problem still occurs even when the phone is connected to a different network then you need to make sure that the phone is running on the latest software update. You should also make sure that the Facebook app that you are using is the latest version from the Google Play Store.

S8 Screen Is Blue

Problem: 2 days ago, at night, I was charging my phone, calling my friend, and playing a game called Word Scapes all at the same time. I noticed it was overheating, like, it was getting really hot. Suddenly, the colours of my phone went whack. It looks like everything is in negative mode right now but it’s not. Everything is just a bright, blinding blue now. The font of letters are blue, outlines of things are blue, everything is basically blue. I tried checking and unchecking the negative mode box but that didn’t do anything. I fiddled with the colour balance and that didn’t work either. Anyways, I took a screenshot of my phone and sent it to my friend and on his end, he can see all the colours perfectly fine, so that makes me believe that my phone is unable to produce some colours anymore. I don’t know. I seriously need help. I just got my s8 two months ago and it’s already messed up.

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. If the issue persists after the reset then this is most likely a hardware related issue most likely caused by a faulty display. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.

S8 Turned Off While Watching YouTube

Problem: I have a s8, my phone was charging while i was watching a video on Youtube suddenly the phone turn off since them i cant turn it on or reset or either the steps you said. I just installed the new update one day ago 04.01.2018.

Solution: What you will need to do right now is to make sure that the phone battery has sufficient charge by following the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger. If the phone does not charge try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port.
  • Remove the microSD card of the phone if one is installed.
  • Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then this might already be caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly. You will need to bring this to a service center and have it checked.

S8 Videos In Gallery Have Exclamation Mark

Problem: So i have had my Samsung s8 for almost 4 months l. On the 30th of December I took some videos and as I wanted to look at them 5 mins later all I found was a grey background with a exclamation mark. I thought maybe they will turn up after some time but then as I took pics on new year eve and on new year the same thing happened. Those pictures and videos were automatically saved to my sd-card. Which has been in the phone since day 1 I have already tried deleting the gallery cache and the phone cache; I rebooted my phone almost 3 times ; I even tried it of and on again. I even went to the safety mode. But nothing seems to work

Solution: It appears that the problem is caused by a corrupt microSD card. To check if this is the case then you should first change the default save location of the camera to the internal storage of the phone. Try taking photos and videos. If the problem does not occur then it’s very likely that you have a corrupt microSD card. I suggest that you replace this card with a new one.
