S7 Text Message Notification But No Text

Problem: I use message plus for texting and recently whenever I get a notification that someone texted me, it’ll appear on my notification bar, but when I go to open the message on the app, the message doesn’t appear. I’ve tried restarting my phone and there are no updates for the app.

Solution: The first thing that you will want to do in this case is to clear the cache and data of the text messaging app from the application manager as the problem could be caused by a glitch in the app. In case the issue still persists after this then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Check if the problem occurs when the phone is started in Safe Mode. if it doesn’t then there’s a possibility that an app you downloaded is causing the problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S7 Screen Is Black And Unresponsive

Problem: Screen is unresponsive and black. Display/keys/buttons light up, phone makes sound, vibrates, but no activity on screen.

Related Problem: My Samsung s7 isn’t turning on at all it makes noises and a blue led light comes on I’ve tried everything and still nothing the screen just stays black but it’s like my phone is turned on but the screen isn’t working could you help me please

Solution: What you should do first in this particular problem is to make sure that the battery of the phone hs sufficient charge by following the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger.
  • If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port.
  • Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons.

In case the above steps fail then you should try starting the phone in recovery mode and if the screen works in this mode you need to do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.

S7 Calls Can’t Be Heard when Using WhatsApp

Problem: I have a samsung galaxy s7 but when I try to make WhatsApp call the other person does not hear me well or complains of my voice being too low or faint. But if I make normal calls or use my earpiece it’s always clear the person does not complain. So I downloaded the doctor plus app and tried to check the receiver and the Mic with the app but the highest of it does not go it shows problem

Solution: If the issue does not occur when you make a call using the stock phone app then the problem could be with the WhatsApp app. Try to uninstall this app then download a fresh version from the Google Play Store. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs. Make sure that your phone is connected to a strong and stable Wi-Fi network since the quality of the call will also depend on the Internet connection.

S7 Grey Transparent Color Covering Half Of Screen

Problem: From time to time I get this grey transparent screen on my phone, which is more than half my screen. It’s very annoying to the point of turning off my phone to get rid of it. I can not remove my batty to do a soft reset, I have tried, phone will not open. Anyway, I have tried everything to the point of deleting all my apps I have downloaded & I still have the same problem,. So I just downloaded my apps. Is there anything you can suggest to fix this other than upgrading my cell phone Thank you in advance.

Solution: The first thing you need to do in this case is to check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem. To do this just start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then there’s a possibility that it is caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. In case the issue still occurs then you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the problem still occurs. If it does then this could already be due to a faulty display in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Not Sending Or Receiving MMS

Problem: I have a Galaxy S7. It is a Sprint phone. I recently changed to ATT using this phone. I am not able to receive or send MMS on text. The APN is correct (according to ATT) and mobile data is activated. Is there a solution to this issue?

Solution: If your phone has already been unlocked and is provisioned properly by AT&T then you should not have any problems using it. For sending and receiving MMS there are two things to keep in mind. An active mobile data subscription and the correct APN settings.

Make sure that your phone is getting a good mobile data signal ( preferrable LTE). you also need to check the APN settings of your phone.

  • Name: NXTGENPHONE
  • APN: NXTGENPHONE
  • Proxy: Not set
  • Port: Not set
  • Username: Not set
  • Password: Not set
  • Server: Not set
  • MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
  • MMS Proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
  • MMS Port: 80
  • MCC: 310
  • MNC: 410
  • Authentication Type: None
  • APN Type: default,mms,supl,hipri
  • APN Protocol: IPv4
  • Bearer: Unspecified

In case the issue still persists then I suggest that you try clearing the cache and data of the stock messaging app from the application manager then try sending an MMS. If this doesn’t fix the problem then you should consider doing a factory reset. Just make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

S7 Charger Is Incompatible

Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy S7.  Today, I received a message that my “charger is incompatible, use the original charger” even though I am using the original charging cable that I received with the phone.  Do you have any recommendations?  I took it to Verizon.  They suggested purchasing a new battery or a new phone.

Solution: To troubleshoot this problem the first thing you need to do is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air as dirt stuck in this port can usually cause this type of problem. You also should try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge the phone.

In case the issue persists then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly, possibly the charging port.
