S6 Screen Not Turning On After Drop
Problem: Hi, my wife recently dropped her Samsung galaxy s6 and ever since then the screen wont turn on and there is a blue LED flashing light on constantly. I have recently taken it to my nearest phone shop where he had no idea what the problem was.
Related Problem: I have dropped my Samsung galaxy s6 and the screen has gone off. The blue light is on at the top of the phone but nothing is working. The screen hasn’t smashed but did flash at first and i can’t get to the battery to do anything. Any ideas of the likely problem? Thanks
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is to check if the issue is caused by a software glitch. For this you should start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset from here. Take note that this will erase your phone data. If the screen is still black even in recovery mode then the problem is most likely caused by a faulty display that got damaged during the drop. Try having the display assembly replaced at a service center.
S6 Battery Drains Fast Not Going Past 86% When Charging
Problem: So my Samsung Galaxy S6 was fully charged, i used for a while few days ago , battery level got down to around 86% then phone shutdown and rebooted i don’t see what was after that but next i got was 15% notification about five minutes after that then it was 0% and power off , so I plugged up my phone to charge it and now wont go above 86 % charge.
Solution: There’s a big possibility that this problem is already caused by a faulty battery. To verify if this is the case you will have to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Check first if the phone can charge up to 100%. You should also check if the battery still drains quickly. If the issue still persists then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have the battery replaced.
S6 Stuck In Samsung Logo
Problem: My phone randomly turned black with a white x on the bottom right corner. After some time the power went off. But now as I turn it on the Samsung logo comes on but the homepage doesn’t appear instead there’s a black screen. I don’t know what to do. And do now want to lose any of my apps or pictures. Please help. Thank You.
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is to perform a battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then perform the additional troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
- Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger.
- Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Not Charging
Problem: My galaxy s6 will not charge. Last night after I got it from downloading something it would charge up to 86%. My phone went dead about two hours ago went to put it on the charger it wouldn’t charge. Every time I would turn it on it would have up to 6%. Did a hard reboot and everything nothing works. Tried my charger on other devices and its working but not on my galaxy. Need help fast!!!!
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed. Once this is done try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port ( if it does then one of the pins of the charging port is broken).
In case the above steps fails to work then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 From AT&T No Incoming Calls MetroPCS
Problem: Hi I bought this phone Galaxy S6 from my brother who is an AT&T customer. AT&T provided the code to unlock the phone and I activated with metro pcs. HOwever after calling customer service at metro pc and going in person to the store they said that my phone will not work with their network. There is any solution. I am able to make call sometimes to check my voicemail however no incoming calls. Text and data works fine. Is it really nothing to do? Thanks
Solution: If your phone has been unlocked and is now activated with Metro PCS then you should be able to use it without any problems. Try to do a factory reset ( make sure to backup your phone data first before doing the reset) then check if the issue still occurs. You should also try using a different SIM card in your phone to verify if your account has been properly provisioned.
S6 Not Connecting to JBL Charge 3 Bluetooth Speaker
Problem: JBL charge 3 Bluetooth device not visible on Galaxy S6 . It was paired, then after a few days of using it, the sound stopped playing through speaker, though still showed as paired on the phone. Tried toggling bluetooth on/off. Issue persisted. Tried unpairing, then was no longer a visible device thereafter. I used all your troubleshooting tips all the way through factory reset and issue persists. The JBL charge 3 is visible to other phones and works fine. My phone seems to work fine with other bt devices. Any thoughts on how to make my charge 3 visible to my galaxy again?
Solution: Try forgetting the Bluetooth connection from your phone then before pairing both devices again press on the Bluetooth button on the JBL speaker for at least 10 seconds. Make a Bluetooth search on the phone and once the speaker is detected proceed with connecting to it.
S6 Stuck In Android Lollipop
Problem: my s6 is still stuck on android 5.1.1 and i am the first user of this phone. the phone is rooted and i have been struggling to get it unrooted. i think the phone is not updating to the latest android because its rooted.
Solution: You are definitely right. The reason why your phone is not getting any updates is because it is rooted. The best way to get the latest software update on your phone right now is to flash it using Odin. You can download the latest firmware file of your phone from the Sammobile website which is also where you will get the instructions on how to flash your phone.
