Samsung Galaxy S6 Not Responding Issue & Other Related Problems

One of the older generation flagship phones that can still provide a great user experience is the #Samsung #Galaxy #S6. S6 Not Responding

Problem: Hello.  For the last few weeks, my Samsung S6 has been acting funny.  Specifically, when I hit the button to turn off the display screen and/or when I hit the home button, nothing happens.  I have performed several simulated battery-removal restarts as you have suggested elsewhere. That solves the issue, but it returns shortly thereafter. I have uninstalled/deactivated the apps I don’t want and tried force stopping.  No luck

Solution: If a simulated battery pull temporarily fixes the problem then it’s very likely that this is caused by a software glitch. I recommend that you try the following troubleshooting steps listed below to fix the problem.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Stuck In Loading Email Messages

Problem: I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 (T-Mobile) I can read my email but just since the 1st of this year (2018), when I go to respond or forward an email, the pop up comes up that says loading messages with the whirling circle to the left of it. It just continues and does not stop. It never did this before. I would like to use my email again.

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to make sure that your phone is connected to a strong and stable Wi-Fi network. This allows us to eliminate any Internet connection related issues that could cause this problem.

If the connection is good then there’s a possibility that this problem is caused by a glitch in the email app itself. To check if this is the problem you will have to clear the cache and data of the email app from the application manager. Take note that you will need to setup your email account again once this is done.

If the issue persists then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Check if the issue occurs in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Not Getting Software Update

Problem: I have an Samsung Galaxy S6 by AT&T and i still haven’t gotten the new 7.0 update. The problem is after i open Settings go to About device i click on Software Update and it doesn’t open at all. I continuously click and it still doesn’t open the next page. What is the problem ?

Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try checking for the update again. You should also consider checking for the update using Smart Switch.

In case the issue persists then you should consider flashing your phone with its updated firmware file using Odin. You can get the firmware file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.

S6 Calls Keep On Dropping

Problem: In the last couple of months my samsung S6 has begun to have some issues – i can not always hear the person I am talking to, and they can not always hear me, more recently the calls I make are dropping sometimes before they pick up, but not always. ..My husband has started having the same issue

Solution: Sometimes dropped calls are caused by network issues which is what you should be checking first. Check the signal status of the phone and make sure that it is getting a good reception. You should also try making calls in other locations and check if the issue occurs.

In case the issue isn’t caused by a network problem then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. In case the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Try wiping the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Not Turning On After Getting Wet

Problem: I dropped my phone in water. It was fine initially and i put it in my pocket. Checked 30 to 40 minutes later and nothing. Put it on charge and it tells me it’s 100% battery but won’t turn on. Can’t get to the battery and it’s sealed Can I do anything to get it to work again?

Solution: Because the phone is not waterproof then it’s very likely that water has entered the device. What you will need to do right now is to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. Once this is done check if the phone can turn on. If it does not turn on then the device could be suffering from water damage. What you should do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Audio Files Attached On Text Messages Not Playing

Problem: I have a new Samsung S6 (received 2 days ago).  I have an issue with attached audio files not playing on received Text messages and audio files not playing on received Snapchat messages.  There are no error codes.  It simply says “unable to play”.  The phone will play audio files from Youtube, Pandora, etc.  I am wondering if there is an app on my phone that needs to be activated ( not really sure).  The battery is not removable. I have done 2 different types of factory reset.  One, by using my settings, and the other by using the Power button and volume button. Straight talk is no help.  They just say that the app or message sender’s phone and/or file is probably not compatible with my phone. Can you help?

Solution: If you have already performed a factory reset and the issue still occurs then it’s very likely that the phone lacks the codecs to play the audio files. Try downloading a third party music player app from the Google Play Store then check if this fixes the problem.

S6 Is Not Charging

Problem: Phone not charging even with fast charger , it takes average of 6 hours to fully charge from 10% with the 100% not lasting up to 7 hours .did a battery replacement ,still same issue.

Solution: Try checking if the problem is caused by a software glitch by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. If the issue persists then try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Once this is done you should try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger.

In case the issue persists then this could already be caused by a faulty internal component possibly the power IC or the charging port. If this is the case then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 No SIM Card Error

Problem: My phone shows no SIM CARD/Emergency calls only even when i insert a sim card in the phone. Due to this problem my mobile network data is also not working and can’t be found for configuration.

Solution: Try inserting a different SIM card in your phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the SIM slot using a can of compressed air.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the issue persists then you will need to bring the phone to  service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related problem.
