S6 Loses Internet Connection
Problem: The phone loses internet connection turning wifi off and on doesn’t reconnect and when i reset the phone it bricks so i have to keep factory resetting the phone I am able to provide a photo of the reboot page if that helps
Solution: Have you tried checking if the issue occurs when the phone is connected to a different Wi-Fi network? If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by the particular Wi-Fi network that you are connecting to ( probably a router issue).
In case the issue persists and since you mentioned that you have to keep on performing a factory reset then I recommend that you first try flashing your phone with its updated firmware file using Odin. You can get this file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can get the instructions on how to flash your phone.
If the issue still persists then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Touchscreen Not Working After Getting Wet
Problem: I dropped my Samsung in a pot of water. It’s on and chargers but the touchscreen not working. I have factory restart my phone but didn’t work, and it’s not like I can take the back off the phone off.. please help.
Solution: What you need to do in this case is to make sure that the inside of the phone is free from moisture. Turn off the phone and disconnect it from its charger. Place the device in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours Once this is done turn on the phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then the digitizer of the phone might have been damaged when the phone came in contact with water. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Charge Stays at 0% After Phone Dropped
Problem: Hi, I dropped my phone while it was on 80% and then it shut down and when I charged it, it was back at 0%. As its on the charger, it works as normal but the charge won’t go up, it just stays at 0%. I’ve tried restarting it multiple times and used different chargers on it and it still does the same thing.
Solution: Try cleaning the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should try performing a factory reset to check if this issue is caused by a software glitch. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Screen Is Unresponsive
Problem: My s6 screen was unresponsive. I tried everything to fix/troubleshoot the problem. As there was no damage to the screen(visible damage) I sent it back to my contract provider because it was under warranty. They have said there is a crack in the camera lens and that would cost £60+ to replace. I don’t understand how this would affect the screen and as this problem was long standing where I would have to reset or rapidly to get the screen responding again – I don’t understand how suddenly the screen is not working. I haven’t dropped it etc. Can you tell me if this sounds right ? as any other troubleshooting tips have mentioned nothing about a camera lens being broken to affect the screen
Solution: The crack on the camera lens might be caused by a drop or some pressure exerted on the phone. This will in turn possibly have an effect on how the screen works. What you will want to do in this case is to perform a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will delete your phone data. If the screen still does not work after this then you will need to have this fixed at a service center.
S6 Is Not Responding
Problem: i was texting someone while riding with someone in a car and i went to go turn it on after a few minutes and got no response at all. no LEDS notifications and no response when on a charger. i have not dropped this device once or had it sustain any damage whatsoever. i’m also not sure what my android version is so im filling in a random one
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge. In order to do this follow the steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
- Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger.
- If there is no charging indicator then try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port.
- Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this is most likely a hardware related issue in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Randomly Shutting Off After Nougat Update
Problem: Hello. Please help. I have a Samsung galaxy s6. After updating to nougat, I’m experiencing these problems. My phone keeps shutting off on its own although battery is still full. First time it shut off, I force started it back as it wouldn’t start back by pressing the power key. After that it would shut off on its own when I touch on any apps. No specific apps in particular. It can be either WhatsApp or Fb or even the phone camera. I have tried wiping off the cache partition in recovery mode. No difference. Now the condition has worsened. My phone cannot function once I remove the charger connection. It shuts off. I have already tried updating the software and updating the apps. Could it be a battery problem? How about if I revert to the software before nougat?
Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset from the recovery mode. Once this is done do not install any apps in your phone yet. If the issue persists then this is most likely caused by a hardware component that is failing to work properly possibly the battery or power IC. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Not Turning On Unless Plugged To Charger
Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S6 won’t turn on unless the battery is plugged in; and in that case, only the “charging signal” with show up but I can’t turn the phone completely on. It was fully charged when it stopped working, and I left it to charge all night.
Solution: Unfortunately this is already a hardware related issue possibly caused by a faulty battery or power IC. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it fixed.
S6 Screen Went Black
Problem: Hi, just an FYI, maybe you already know this, so forgive me if you’ve already posted this tip. First-issue. My S6 went black after I dropped it. I tried the power button, the home button, using the quick camera feature by hitting the home button 2x, did all this repeatedly to no success. So THEN I pushed in ALL the buttons at once for 12 seconds-as in both volume up/down, home button and power button. Once I held for 10-12 seconds, the screen came back on and offered many options in small font. I chose “reboot” by toggling with volume down, and selected it by hitting the power button. It just basically powered back up from the “SAMSUNG” screen and I was back to business. Hope this helps.
Solution: Sometimes just rebooting the phone will help solve this particular issue. We’re happy that this worked in your case.
