S6 Charges Slow After Nougat Update
Problem: Dear All, I am writing to you asked for advice. I am facing problem with my galaxy s6 after nougat update. My phone charge very slow or just stay the same amount of % while am using it (when am using. When I turn off my display it’s starts to charge normally. My charger is fine I checked this. The problem has occurred after to nougat update. I am wondering if it’s normal on nougat update or this is an issue? Have you received the same reports? I’d be grateful for your answer Best regards
Solution: Several other smartphone owners who have updated their phone have also been suffering from this very same issue. While it’s possible that this could be caused by a software glitch you should first try to check if the charger that you are using is causing the problem by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
- Try using a different charging cord and wall charger when charging the phone. Make sure that this charger has an output rating of 2A.
If the issue still remains then it’s time to check the phone software.
Sometimes an app aggressively running in the background can affect the charging speed. To check if this is the case you have to start your phone in Safe Mode. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by a downloaded app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
If the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. If this still fails then you have to perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data so make sure to backup your data before doing this.
S6 Only Charges When Pressure Is Applied To Charging Cord
Problem: Hello, I am having issues with my phone charging. The only way it will charge is if I prop it where there is pressure against the plug going into the charging port. I thought maybe it was because I wasn’t using quality chargers, but even after replacing my previous charger with the high quality samsung charger purchased at AT&T, it still won’t charge properly. So it has to be something going on with the charge port on my device, because my husband has the exact same phone, and all of the chargers work fine on his. We aren’t due for an upgrade until Oct, so I need to find out what I should do to resolve the issue until then. What do you suggest? Thank you for your time.
Solution: Have you tried using a different charging cord to charge your phone? If you already have and the issue persists then try cleaning the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed. If the issue still remains after this then the charging port might already be damaged. You should have this checked at a service center. If it is found to be damaged then the charging port assembly will have to be replaced.
S6 Battery Drains Very Fast
Problem: Suddenly my battery drains really fast. What’s more, now it doesn’t even charge. It remains on 2%, even though plugged in and the lightning rod inside the battery indicates that it’s charging. It will not go beyond 2%. It was fine until two days ago. I didn’t do a system update or anything like that, at least not that I know of.
Solution: Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below to fix this particular problem.
- Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air.
- Try using a different charging cord and wall charger to charge your phone.
- Replace the battery with a new one.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related problem.
S6 Not Charging
Problem: My boyfriends phone stopped charging with the cord. We took it to a tech who said it was not the battery but the USB port which is of course is more expensive (according to this store). So we tried a wireless charger. It works on my Samsung S6 (which we both bought on the same day and exact same time) and it charges fine. With his it charges for 2 seconds then the wireless charger goes from green to flashing blue. I’ve been able to turn it back on which it then says unable to charge battery due to overheating. I’ve held it in my hand and it is normal temperature. Is there anyway you can confirm that is the port? It does seem like it’s definitely the battery but I am not the expert by any means but this phone store wasn’t the most legitimate of places. Appreciate your time and thank you for your help!
Solution: What you should do right now is to eliminate some of the factors that can cause this problem so that you can at least narrow down the field of possible suspects that can cause this problem.
- Try cleaning the charging port using a can of compressed air. This will take out the dirt or debris stuck in the port which could be causing the problem.
- Try using a different wired charger when charging the phone. Make sure to also use a different charging cord.
- To eliminate any possible software glitches that could be causing the problem you need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the issue persists and you are still unable to wirelessly charge the phone then the problem could either be caused by a faulty power IC or battery. You will have to bring the phone to a service center to pinpoint the exact cause of this problem.
S6 Does Not Turn On Is Extremely Hot
Problem: Hello Droid Guy. I have had my S6 for almost a year now, 11 months actually. I have never really had any problems with the device charging or turning on. One random morning, the morning of me writing this email, I woke up and reached for my phone. I had to drop the phone immediately because it was extremely hot. I picked up the phone again with caution to find that the device now won’t turn on. I know it was at least at 50% battery life when I went to sleep so it should have had some response when the home button or power button was pressed. I have tried multiple outlets and cables, connecting them to multiple devices, and all have ceased working. Every time I plug the phone in, almost immediately the back-middle of the phone gets very warm and keeps rising in temperature. Is my battery fried? Does it have something to do with the CPU? Is it my charging port? Please get back to me with any ideas on how to fix the problem.
Solution: A phone that gets hot immediately when being charged is a possible sign that a short circuit has occurred inside the phone. The primary suspect in this case will be the battery. However, it is also possible that other components that have been damaged is causing the problem. The best way to deal with this problem right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Not Turning On After Charging
Problem: Hello I have put my S6 on the charger and left it for least n hour. I came to try to turn it on and nothing no charging light comes on and u can’t do a power button n volume when it acts like a dead battery and gets no juice at all to power up. I held power button n volume for least 3-4 mins never did anything . When u plug in power cord it does nothing . This just came out of the blue didn’t fall or anything like that just will not power up . What can I do now is it basically garbage now ??? If so fuck cuz I love this phone and this is first time this has happened and never had any problems with it ever before.
Solution: You should try to simulate a battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then try charging it again for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. If the phone still does not turn on after this then you should have this checked at a service center.
