J7 Screen Turned Black

Problem: My screen has turned black and it isn’t working out. while calling from other phones I can found out that the ring is going but I don’t find any kind of vibration or ringing in my phone. Please provide me the solution.

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this particular case is to perform a simulated battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. In case the screen still remains black then your next step is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge by following the steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air.
  • Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger.
  • If the phone does not charge then you should try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port.
  • Turn on the phone.

If the above steps don’t work then try starting the phone in recovery mode then from here perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

In case the issue persists then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.

J7 Apps Need Internet Connection To Work

Problem: Hello, I have been having issues with my galaxy j7 phone. I have tried all of the troubleshooting above in which was recommended. Three of my apps are not loading it says there’s an internet issue. When I put my phone on Wifi it works just fine. If someone can recommend something else that would be helpful. Thanks in advance

Solution: If the apps work well if your phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network then these apps need an Internet connection to work. Some of the apps that need an Internet connection to work include streaming apps such as Facebook and Spotify.

J7 Cannot Charge

Problem: My phone samsung j7  cannot even charge…i was using it while the battery was very low and it’s just shutdown by itself. Now even when connecting it to the charger, it does not pick or charge and to make it worse i cannot open the back cover to see the battery since it was manufactured like that. Please assist.

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port. Once this is done charge your phone for at least 20 minutes using its wall charger. In case the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port. Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.

In case the issue persists then this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J7 Not Charging

Problem: my galaxy j7   died on me after not wanting to charge . i noticed just before it died my flashlight was on . now my phone still wont charge. i can take a charged battery from my wifes phone and put in mine and the moment the battery contacts touch, the flashlight cuts on then dims . I can cut on my phone but the light stays on and drains super fast and still wont charge. there is no water damage . i do have the shake flashlight app and thought maybe that was on when it died. if i hook the phone up to a charger with no battery in it, sometimes the light will pulse on and off like a beacon. i can boot it into safe mode. the light still stays on  but the battery drains about 1% every 30 seconds . a fully charged battery will only show 30% from power on and dies within minutes  before i can figure anything out in settings.  side note the battery will be at 0% within minutes confirmed from my wifes phone by swapping batteries and powering on on a charger. but performs fine in hers . I am thinking either a hardware issue or firmware.

Solution: It’s very likely that this is a hardware related problem already possibly caused by a shorted circuit. To troubleshoot this problem remove the microSD card of the phone first ( if one is installed) then do a factory reset. Backup your phone data first before doing the reset. If the issue occurs after the reset then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

J7 Transferring Apps To microSD Card

Problem: Same issue with moving apps to sd Card. Seems all apps are not movable in storage section. Seems only apps I have downloaded are moveable. Why did they change that option? I only had device 2 weeks and used all 16 gigs of internal storage. Got a 32 gig sd card and only using 1.67 of 32. Buy no other apps can transfer. That makes this a worthless phone for me. I haven’t downloaded many apps yet. Help! Are those transfer to sd card apps worth trying? Don’t want to download anything more Thanks so much!

Solution: Due to security concerns there are some apps that you won’t be able to move to the microSD card. If you move an app from the internal storage to the microSD card then your personal data stored by the app could potentially be exposed to hacking. There’s also the issue regarding the performance of the apps when moved to the microSD card as the card operates much slower than the internal storage of the phone. This is the reason why Samsung has restricted some apps from moving or installing to the microSD card even though this feature is available in the latest Android version.

J7 Deletes Text Message From One Contact

Problem: I was wondering if you have ever heard of a (US Cellular) Samsung galaxy J7 that deletes only 1 persons text messages? It seems to happen almost daily regardless of the settings on the phone being set to not automatically delete messages, but this persons still delete all by themselves. Could this be caused by a spyware program or something similar because everyone else’s messages seem to stay no matter how old they are and the persons that delete automatically seem to delete almost daily, but not always. I don’t have any idea what to think. I even tried doing a factory reset to get rid of any spyware on the phone. Would this get rid of a spyware program even? Thank you for your help.

Solution: If you perform a factory reset on the phone then this will remove any spyware that might be present in your phone.

As for the text messages that disappear are you using the stock text messaging app or are you using a third party text messaging app? If you are using a third party messaging app then try to uninstall this then use the stock messaging app.

You should also make sure that your phone is running on the latest software version.

J7 Stuck In Updating Process

Problem: Hi, Recently my Samsung Galaxy J7 went through an update, and the phone starts to boot, sits at the logo, then moves to the next screen after a long time (more than an hour). Since then, the phone has shown to be updating, it has been doing so for 7 hours, and nothing is happening. I have not been able to factory reset.  Can you offer me any guidance… it seems that Samsung has followed the apple route to render the phone useless.
