A7 Does Not Switch On
Problem: I had bought an Galaxy A7 2017 from Malaysia in Nov’17. It was switched on during the purchase to see whether it works or not. Since the purchase it hadn’t been switched on till now. Today as I plugged it into a wall charger and wanted to start configuring, its not switching on. I have kept it on charge for more than 1 hour but the phone isn’t switching on. I have tried holding the vol down+power key for 10 sec, that also don’t work. Pls suggest what to do to switch on the set.
Solution: The first thing that you will want to do in this particular case is to make sure that the battery of the phone has sufficient charge by following the steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
- Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using a wall charger.
- If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging the phone from a computer USB port.
- Turn on the phone by pressing and holding the power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
In case the above steps fails to turn on the phone then you will need to bring this to a service center and have it checked.
A7 Not Receiving Incoming Calls
Problem: Unable to receive incoming calls. Checked all settings seems normal. Tried hard reset but problem still persist. Mine is A7 2017 export set from Vietnam. It was working fine till I went overseas last week. Please help, thanks
Solution: This could be an issue with the roaming service of the phone. Try inserting another SIM card in the phone and check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then you will have to contact your carrier regarding this matter.
A7 Moisture Has Been Detected Error
Problem: Hello, My problem is that I am not able to charge my phone because it shows the notification “Moisture has been detected in your charger/ USB port…” But I did not put my phone to any environment that could possibly harm the device. When I turn the phone off for some time (about 10 min.) the notification disappears but appears again after few minutes. Thx for your help.
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to make sure that the charging port of the phone is dry. If you have a hand vacuum then use this to remove any moisture in the port. You can also use a hair dryer which will effectively evaporate any moisture in the port. Once this is done restart the phone then check if the error message still occurs. If it does then the next step is to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing this. Once this is done try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty hardware component.
A7 Screen Has Colored Lines
Problem: My phone screen has colored lines running across it, black spots and flickers. It still works fine when I swipe and click things but I can barely see anything on the screen. Also the screen is not cracked, just malfunctioning.
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If the issue still occurs after the reset then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be caused by a faulty display assembly.
A7 Keeps Crashing
Problem: My phone keeps crashing. At one point this reference came up, smen ram ptable!! (app/aboot/rdx_protocol.c:215). The phone will stay on as long as I am doing something (scrolling, texting, etc.), but as soon as it changes to standby mode, it crashes. I then have to push the up-down and power buttons to get it to turn back on. Sometimes it powers up, and sometimes it goes to a screen that has a large android and says it is downloading and not to turn off. It does not come out of that screen, so it has to be turned off in order to reboot it. The alert that comes up during this is that it cannot find the boot. I know nothing about phones so this is very frustrating to me. I have done a factory reset but now a menu does not come up when I power start it. Please help me!
Solution: Does the phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing this as this could be causing the problem. If the issue persists and since you have already performed a factory reset then I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
A7 Freezes Not Turning On
Problem: Hiya, sorry if this is a post already (first time poster) i have a t mobile samsung galaxy A7 that in the last 2 months has been acting up by first off randomly freezing. After a week of this happening the phone would die within 20% of battery life, i had the battery replaced and to no avail it didn’t fix it, about a week later it would freeze more often, randomly reboot and power off around 40-60% and start to get hot. Then finally about a week after that it quit on me in the middle of a phone call and has been completely lifeless since then. Computers won’t recognize it, wont charge, cant boot into recovery or safe mode to factory reset so it’s completely dead, no vibrations led lights. Different chargers won’t work it was running 6.01, any help is greatly appreciated.
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to clean the charging port of the phone then test different charging cord and wall chargers to charge the phone. You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port. If the phone can turn on then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset to eliminate any software glitches that could be causing this problem.
In case the issue persists then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
A7 Camera Photos Are Out Of Focus
Problem: Hi, I read the discussion on “Why is my camera blurry on my Samsung A7”. I read all of it but my circumstance is a little different than most. I had originally had a Note 2, awoke to the dreaded Sudden Death black screen. So I decided just to buy a new phone. Didn’t like the Note 5’s features (no SD slot, no removable battery) and decided to go with the A7. I’ve only had this phone for 1 day, brand new out of the box from a Cell store on ebay. As I set the phone up, when I’d got to the camera , I noticed that in every picture I take its either one of 2 things. 1, the image will semi focus but half of the picture is blurry or 2, the entire image is out of focus. I spent hours trying all the tricks posted here and others I’ve found in different forums. I can send you a few images to show you what I mean. This is a brand new device. There’s no film on the lense, no dirt or dust. No need to factory reset since it was already there this morning when I installed everything. It’s 100% new and factory unlocked so I can use it with my company. My question is, what should I do? It may kind of be under warranty through ebay since I purchased a brand new item. Do you think it’s a hardware issue? I’d hate to take it to a shop for repairs, considering it’s 1 day old. Any little bit of insight would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much for your time
Solution: You should try clearing the cache and data of the camera app from the application manager then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you might want to try doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. When taking a picture make sure that there is sufficient lighting and that your hands are not shaky as this will affect the output.
In case the issue persists then you will need to have this checked at a service center.
A7 Wi-Fi Has Exclamation Mark
Problem: My Samsung A7 is having issues with the WiFi connection. The WiFi logo will have a ! Beside it and not allow me to use the internet. When I try to turn off the WiFi my device freezes. This happens over 10 times a day.
Solution: This issue is most likely caused by a communication problem between your phone and the wireless network. Try forgetting the Wi-Fi network from your phone then connect to it again. If the issue persists then try connecting the phone to a different Wi-Fi network then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete try connecting to the Wi-Fi network again.
