S7 Edge Not Turning On After Getting Wet
Problem: Basically i got a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge from my brother and it barely took 6 hours when my roommate decided to try out the water resistant ability.. he put it in a bucket of water not more than ten sec and when we pulled it out, the screen was still on.. i even tried to use the fingerprint to unlock the phone but it wouldn’t unlock.. 5 sec later the screen went blank.. i tried turning it on and it didn’t work.. i tried drying it and removing the water inside and still no progress.. hours later i tried charging it but no led indicator and it didn’t charge.. though the phone started to get hot so i believed there was still life in it.. the next day i took it for repairs and the repair guy said the reason water got inside was because the phone had already been opened.. so he opened the phone and cleaned the water inside and disassembled the boards and used alcohol and a brush and cleaned it.. then he heated it up and allowed it to dry… Then he put em back together and tried to charge it but still no progress and it wont turn on either.. but it still heated.. so the repair guy concluded that i need a screen replace so that’s what i’m into now but please if you have any other alternative or options let me know.. i need help thanks
Solution: If the phone does not turn on then I doubt it’s only the screen that got affected by the water. There might be some components in the motherboard that also got water damaged. I suggest that you try having the phone checked at a different service center.
S7 Edge Screen Is Black After Drop
Problem: While I was listening I dropped my phone and the screen went black but the music is still playing, after few minutes it stopped. I tried fixing it pressing the home button and such but it didn’t work. I can still screencap but that’s just it the screen is still black and whenever i press the home button sometimes the back and the other button lights up
Solution: It looks like the display got damaged by the drop. To verify if this is the case you should start the phone in recovery mode. If the display works in this mode then I recommend that you do a factory reset. Take note that this reset will erase your phone data. In case the screen remains black even in recovery mode then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked. It’s either the connection of the display to the motherboard has become loose or the display itself has become damaged.
S7 Edge Not Charging
Problem: My Galaxy S7 Edge was charging on a USB charge in an airplane on Monday. The charge approached 100% and then started decreasing. Charging became less effective then. I left the phone on my charger overnight and it just increased from 25 to just 45%. I tried another person’s charger this morning and the charge did not increase at all- even with the phone turned off. I tried the reset procedure- holding down the power button and the volume down again will no success. Is a soft rest possible with S7 Edge?
Solution: A soft reset is possible on this phone however I doubt if it will help resolve the problem. What you will need to do first in this case is to make sure that the charging port of the phone is free from any dirt or debris. Clean the port using a can of compressed air. You should also try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger.
In case the issue persists try doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. If the issue still occurs after the reset then you will need to bring this phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Call Can’t Be Heard
Problem: I have 2 issues with phone calls on the same day Nov 12 between 6:15am and 2:00pm EST. First: I had 2 calls – one call was on hold and I was speaking on the 2nd line. I heard both calls drop, when I tried to call the 2nd call back, I went to my contacts, selected the contact name, when the contact details were displayed I could still hear the person speaking but I didn’t know how to connect with them. I selected the call icon and I was disconnected. I repeated this process a few times but could not connect with that 2nd contact person. I ended up calling them from my landline.Second: I was on a call – a conference call with many people on this call, and many people speaking at the same time when all of a sudden the call was silent, I did not hear anyone speak, nor could they hear me call out. The call was continuing but I could not hear anything. I hung up and had to call back in to participate in the call. Could you please advise how to ensure this does not happen again thank you
Solution: There are several factors that can cause this particular problem ranging from a network issue to a phone issue. Listed below are the troubleshooting steps that you need to do to fix this problem.
- Try checking if the issue occurs when you are in a different location. This way you will be able to check if the problem is caused by a weak signal in your area.
- Restart the phone then check if the issue still occurs.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone is started in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.
- Insert your SIM card in another phone then check if the issue occurs when you use this other phone. If it does then the problem is most likely a network or SIM related problem.
S7 Ege Not Turning In
Problem: While I was working with my smartphone. Suddenly its screen went blue and a message came up that was downloading, then it became turned off. I can’t turn it on anymore… what should I do? I have tried the pressing and holding power and volume down buttons. But still i can’t turn it on.
Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to make sure that the battery of your phone has sufficient charge by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
- Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes.
- If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.
- Turn on the phone by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.
If the above steps fails to work then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Screen Has Green And Pink Lines
Problem: I have. Samsung galaxy 7 edge phone it is not very old Last night after charging it had a rolling green and pink lined screen it will not turn off even using your tips I can access the apps as they are all hidden behind the rolling screen what can I do I have tried holding down the off button and the volume down button nothing works can you help
Solution: Try starting the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. In case the issue occurs in this mode then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If after the reset the issue still occurs then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
