Pixel Not Turning On
Problem: Phone fully charged. The phone turned off and I am not able to get it to turn back on. I tried all the troubleshooting suggestions I found online and nothing is working.
Solution: The first thing that you will want to do in this case is to check if the problem is caused by the software crashing. If your phone has sufficient charge then what you should do is to press and hold the power button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.
In case the phone does not turn on then the next step is to charge the phone by following the steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
- Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes.
- If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try to charge the phone from a computer USB port.
- Turn on the phone.
If the phone still does not turn on then proceed with the additional steps listed below. Start the phone in recovery mode.
- Press and hold the Volume down button.
- While holding Volume down, press and hold the Power button until the phone turns on. You’ll see the word “Start” with an arrow around it.
- Press the Volume down button until you highlight “Recovery mode.”
- Press the Power button to start recovery mode. You’ll see an image of an Android robot with an exclamation mark (you may also see “No command”).
Once in recovery mode you need to wipe the cache partition of the phone then follow this up with a factory reset. Take note that this will erase your phone data.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this might already be caused by a faulty battery. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
Pixel Will Not Charge
Problem: Phone is not charging due to not connecting the USB cable to the phone. Phone is fully discharge. Please help me what to do..?
Related Problem: Phone will not charge. Came into the Verizon store and they followed all the steps to troubleshoot and it still does not charge
Related Problem: my pixel is not charging. I just did an update yesterday so I’m sure it is related to that. I’ve shut down and restarted 3x. I’m tried 3 different cables.
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do for this particular issue is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed. Once this is done try charging the phone. If it still does not charge then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Try using a different charging cord and wall charger.
- Try charging the phone from a computer USB port. If the phone charges this way then one of the pins of the charging port might be damaged. You need to have this checked at a service center.
Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then the phone might have a faulty battery. You need to have this checked at a service center.
Pixel Wi-Fi Switch Not Turning On
Problem: Hi, My toggle/slide switch to turn the wifi from off to on does not work. It continues to stay on off. Can you please offer your expertise on how to resolve? Anything will help. Thank you
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try checking first if you can turn on the Wi-Fi switch. If the issue persists then it’s very likely that the Wi-Fi chip of your phone is not working. You need to have this checked and possibly replaced at a service center.
Pixel Only Charges when Phone Is Off
Problem: I just updated my pixel . Now when I unplug the phone it switches to provide power to another source plugged into usb mode in the debug mode. So I have to switch it every time I plug it in to charge it. I don’t want it to do it. Also if the usb debug screen does not pop up I can only charge my phone when it is off. I tried talking to my carrier and they were other than helpful. I need to get this fixed.
Solution: This problem is usually caused by an issue with the charging port. Try cleaning the charging port using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in it gets removed. Once this is done try checking if the issue still occurs. If it does then you should try doing a factory reset to check if this is caused by a software glitch. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset. In case the issue persists then this is most likely a hardware related problem already in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Pixel Photos Appear Sideways When Uploaded
Problem: When uploading to a web site the pics display sideways if taken in portrait mode or upside down from landscape mode. I’ve searched through all settings and can’t see where to fix it. WordPress forum doesn’t seem to know the answer. Pics from an Iphone display properly. so it seems to be a phone issue
Solution: The best way to fix this issue is to clear the cache and data of the camera app. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs.
