S7 Edge Takes Too Long To Charge

Problem: My samsung galaxy s7 is taking over 6 hours to charge fast charging isn’t working was working fine one minute the next Taking hours to charge i’ve uninstalled apps and tried charging in safe mode

Solution: Fast charging the phone should not take more than 6 hours. The average time to fully charge this particular model from a drained state is around an hour and 40 minutes using the adaptive fast charger. If you are using the wireless fast charging pad then it will take around 2 hours and 40 minutes to fully charge the phone.

For this particular issue the first thing that you need to do is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris that is stuck in this port as this could cause charging problem.

When charging the phone try using a different charging cord and wall charger. Make sure that the charger has an output of at least 2.0A.

In case the issue persists then the next step is to check if a software glitch is causing the problem by doing a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.

Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Edge Not Turning On After Software Update

Problem: Dear Droid guy, I purchased Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge in june-2016. till its warranty don’t have any issue with my phone. But 3 days back during some software update my phone stopped working. During software update I kept my phone for charging and after that phone is not turning on. Screen remains blank and neither light is blinking for battery . I gave my phone to samsung service centre. They have changed the battery and as still it is not working they informed me to change motherboard . So can you please suggest if we have to change motherboard or try to do something else. Solution: If the Samsung service center has checked the motherboard of your phone and has found out that it isn’t working anymore then you will need to have this replaced. Take note though that all of the data stored in your phone will not become accessible anymore.

I suggest that you compare the price that you will have to pay to replace the motherboard with the price of a brand new S8 or S8+. If the price difference is not that much then I suggest that you just get a new phone.

S7 Edge Keeps On Freezing

Problem: Hello, I have a Samsung S7 Edge that I’ve had for nearly a year. The past day or two my phone keeps freezing. I hard reset the phone when it freezes and have even factory reset it multiple times. I have put it in safe mode to see if it still freezes and it does. None of the usual fixes I’ve found on the internet have fixed my issue. I cannot remove the battery either due to the phone. My phone overheats before it freezes. What else can I try or do I need to replace the phone altogether? It is a contract phone and I don’t have any insurance to send it off to repairs or replace it. Please help

Solution: Do you have a microSD card installed in your phone? If you have then you should try removing this first as this might be causing the freezing issue.

In case the issue persists and since you have already done a factory reset then this is most likely a hardware related problem already in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Edge Randomly Freezes

Problem: Hello, I’m having issues with my phone randomly freezing and during that time it’s not responding to anything. I have to perform a force restart by pressing the on/off power + volume down button until it restarts. I haven’t seen any real indication as to when this occurs which makes it more difficult to locate the problem. Troubleshoot: * Done a factory reset of the phone. * In safe mode, reset the cache files. It seems to be one of my applications that’s causing this issue but after the reset I have only downloaded applications that I truly need such as bank apps etc. This problem is very irritating because I have had mornings where the alarm didn’t start ringing because the phone got frozen in the night. Any suggestions how to locate the application that might be causing this? Any app I can download to track down any history of crashes etc. Thanks for your help Best regards

Solution: Just like the issue which we have addressed above the first thing that you should do is to remove the microSD card of the phone if you have one installed. If this card has corrupt sectors then it can cause the phone to freeze.

In case the issue persists even without the microSD card then this could already be a hardware related problem. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Edge Screen Takes Too Long To Turn On When Phone Sleeps

Problem: Suddenly my s7 edge switched off and wasn’t turning on. I tried charging it was showing it is, but with just energy mark on black screen. And wasn’t powering on. I tried change charger that works. But one problem remains. That time i was using 6.0 then i backed up, wiped cache and factory data reset it. Still can’t manage with that one problem so i updated to nougat. Still facing that one problem which is just that whenever i lock my device or is kept for a long time. Pressing home button or power button screen remains off for almost about 15-20secs. Reset everything is perfect when i check home button and lock button for different use it works perfect. This troubles only while turning screen on. Please help me out.

Solution: The best troubleshooting step that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset, Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related problem.

S7 Edge Reboots On Its Own

Problem: my galaxy s7 edge just started rebooting on its own. after following the complete list of troubleshooting methods, my phone still has the problem and now i cannot restore my phone because of it. what should i do?

Solution: Do you have a microSD card installed in your phone? If you have then try removing it as this could be causing the problem.

In case the issue still occurs even with the microSD card removed then you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. To do the reset just follow the steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Perform a factory reset from the recovery mode.

In case the issue still occurs even after performing the steps listed above then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
