S7 Edge Freezes Then Restarts When Connected To Charger

Problem: Hey, I am using Samsung S7 Edge. Yesterday my battery was dying so I plugged the charger into my phone and went on to do my own things. It was only after a while when I was about to remove the charger that I realized my phone was charging while switched off (I did not switch it off before charging it). I powered my phone on as usual and it was working for a while before freezing and restarting into the (S7 edge, powered by Android) screen but this time, I noticed that there were weird pixels appearing. True enough, my phone started entering a bootloop, either keep restarting or just being stuck at a blank screen with the deep blue LED light (usually seen when powering on the phone). After force restarting over and over (by holding the down + power button), some strange texts appeared in yellow and red words (I can’t remember what they said, probably informing me of some software issue. Not responding to any buttons I pressed, I continued force restarting it and it finally worked after a few tries. However, continuing from this event, every single time I plug my phone into a charger, it will freeze and restart (might loop once or twice before actually powering up). Pretty sure that isn’t right. Please help! Weird pixels have been appearing on my screen again (this time it’s a lot of olive green lines that makes it look like a patch that covered the entire mid section (from top down) of my phone. Then it will restart into a bootloop after the weird pixels and only turn on after a while. My phone gets overly heated up through this.Thank you so so much.

Solution: If the issue occurs every time you charge your phone then the first thing that you will need to do is to eliminate the charger as a possible factor that’s causing the problem. First, clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Try using a different charging cord when charging the phone. If the issue remains then try using a different wall charger.

In case the issue persists then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as there seems to be a short circuit that occurs whenever the phone is charged which then results in the phone freezing and shutting down.

S7 Edge Reboots Every Two Minutes

Problem: Hi, This is the second time my phone is rebooting every 2 minutes. i do not even have time to do a back up or factory reset from settings, last time I did a hard reset. I had recently downloaded a new theme then noticed wifi wasn’t connecting when going into wifi settings screen goes black and the reboot begins….I have rebooted into safe mode and removed the theme downloaded. But this hasn’t fixed. I was hoping to actually to a back up but it is not letting me!! I am hoping there is a way around avoiding a hard reset. Any advice to avoid this in the future. I am not sure what themes are causing it or how to avoid – I do like my themes and changing them, but there is no rhyme or reason as to which might be malicious. I can only understand each and every issue you are emailed is important – I would so appreciate any feedback. For now I think I have to do another hard reset – and try to get a backup in beforehand. Solution: Do you have a microSD card installed in your phone? If this card has corrupt sectors then it can cause the phone to reboot. Try removing this card then check if the issue still occurs.

In case the issue persists and you are unable to backup your phone data from Safe Mode then you should consider performing a factory reset from the recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

S7 Edge Not Getting Notifications From Messenger App

Problem: Yesterday, for no apparent reason, I stopped receiving notifications of incoming messages through my Android messenger app. I have reset my device twice. I have toggled the notifications icon multiple times. I have turned off notifications for any other messenger app on my phone, including hangouts. I have also uninstalled the messenger app and reinstalled it. None of these has resolved the issue.

Solution: Try clearing the cache and data of the messenger app then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S7 Edge Screen Keeps Flickering

Problem: My screen keeps flickering a green light across the bottom of the phone. I do everything that you said to do,I even factory reset the phone and it still does it. What do I do??

Solution: Since you have already performed a factory reset and the issue still occurs then this is most likely caused by a faulty display assembly already. The best thing that you can do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Edge Charges Very Slowly

Problem: No matter what I do my phone charges crazy slow, it isn’t just simply not fast charging but it takes 10 minutes to go up one percent. In 3 hours it only went to 45 percent I don’t know what’s wrong with it, just suddenly stopped working right

Solution: If your phone charges slowly then you need to perform the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port gets removed.
  • Try charging the phone using a different charging cord and wall charger.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as the problem could already be caused by a faulty battery.

S7 Edge No Internet Access

Problem: I can not connect to the internet! There is no internet access. I can call and receive call and and but still no internet access. My phone was recently stolen and got a new one. They blocked my line but we contacted Vodacom and they unblocked it work fine and suddenly there was just no internet connection

Solution: If you are trying to connect using your mobile data subscription then you should make sure that the phone you are using has the correct APN settings setup.

Follow these steps to make sure your phone has the correct APN settings.

  • Slide your finger downwards starting from the top of the screen.
  • Press the settings icon.
  • Press Mobile networks.
  • Press Access Point Names.
  • Press ADD.
  • Press Name.
  • Key in Vodafone Internet and press OK.
  • Press APN.
  • Key in live.vodafone.com and press OK.
  • Press MCC.
  • Key in 505 and press OK.
  • Press MNC.
  • Key in 03 and press OK.
  • Press Authentication type.
  • Press PAP.
  • Press APN type.
  • Key in default and press OK.
  • Press MORE.
  • Press Save.
  • Press the field next to the data connection to activate it.
  • Press the Home key to return to the home screen.
