Samsung Galaxy S8+ Randomly Restarts Issue & Other Related Problems

The #Samsung #Galaxy #S8+ is one of the best Android smartphones that you can get this year. The phone has a large 6.2 inch Super AMOLED display which fits in a nice compact body. S8+ Randomly Restarts

Problem: I have the s8+. After a week of using in flaw free, it randomly shut down. I tried to turn it back on to no prevail. After some research, I seen a post on how to soft boot. Great…I tried it, all was fine for 2 days. It has happened several times since. Each getting progressively harder to restart phone. This last time was the worst. Took 2.5 hrs to get it to turn on again. Any thoughts?

Solution: The first thing to consider in this particular case is if the issue is caused by some software glitch. Listed below are the troubleshooting steps that you need to perform for this scenario.

  • Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing it as sometimes a corrupt card can cause a phone to shut down.
  • Try starting your phone in Safe Mode. When in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Check if the issue still occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be a hardware related issue. For this you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8+ Moisture In Charging Port

Problem: I’ve been having an issue with my phone for a few weeks now. I keep getting a message telling me that there is moisture in the charging port. I’m still baffled as to why I’m getting this message. I haven’t taken my phone in water or liquid of any kind. It hasn’t fallen into any foods, so I know there shouldn’t be any food contaminants in the port. A few days after it happened I let it sit in rice overnight and that seemed to help for a couple of days but the message just keeps coming back. Now it’s a daily thing. I was using my original charger to charge my phone. The wall unit stopped working so I started using another one. when I was able to I would use the usb cord that came with it but it stopped working a few days ago. I try using anothering usb cord but when I use it, my phone says its a slow charger and to use the one that came with the phone. The day after this happened, I took the phone to my provider and he looked at the phone after hooking it up to a computer and didn’t find anything wrong with the phone. The only way we could even get the phone to connect to the computer was to charge it wirelessly before connecting it. Didn’t see the moisture detected until after he disconnected the usb from the phone. He said that since there was nothing wrong that he could see, he said to take it to a Samsung Support Center to have them assess the phone.

Related Problem: I’ve read your response and solution for a phone not charging due to moisture how about this: I purchase a brand new Samsung 8+ I have it for a week never wet the phone, never dropped it in water, I plug it to its original charger and cable and error message shows up saying moisture detected. I dry the port just in case my hands were sweaty (which is ridiculous) but the problem persists. I continued to attempt to dry the mysterious moisture but the error message continues to appear. I tried to charge with a wireless charger and it does work but who walks around with wireless charger? Oh yes….Me. I tried rebooting, resetting and shaking my phone like a lunatic but the error prevails. Frustrated

Solution: You will usually get the moisture detected error when the charging port of the phone has liquid in it. When this happens you won’t be able to charge the phone since this is a protective feature that prevents the device from being damaged. Since you mentioned that the port is free from any liquid but the message keeps appearing then what you will want to do right now is to check if this is caused by some software glitch. Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install anything in your phone yet. Proceed with cleaning the charging port using a can of compressed air then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then the charging port might be faulty. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8+ Quits Charging

Problem: My phone will charge for a bit then quit charge even tho it isn’t at 100% then I have to plug and unplug it 2 to 3 times to get it charging again this phone is less than a month old any advice?

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is to clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port is removed. If there are any stubborn particles stuck in the port which are difficult to remove then try using a toothpick. Once this is done try charging your phone. If the issue still occurs then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.

Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked as this issue could be caused by a faulty charging port.

S8+ Got Wet Getting Moisture Detected Error

Problem: Yesterday while cleaning out my mop bucket in the sink, my phone fell out my pocket and into the dirty sink water. The phone did not submerge in the water it fell on top of the mop in the sink. I keep getting the “moisture detected ” notification and i’m not sure how to clean it out. Please help

Solution: If your phone got wet and the moisture has been detected error appears then you need to perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Shake the phone or blow into the charging port to remove any liquid present in it.
  • Leave the phone for around 2 hours as the water will naturally evaporate.
  • You can also aim a hairdryer at the charging port to dry out any water in it.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S8+ Keeps On Freezing

Problem: This is my second S8+, the first was replaced because the phone would freeze up once or twice a day. Then it went to once or twice an hour, but never during a call. As I was getting ready to send it back for replacement I accidentally dropped it and the screen shattered. I now had to go through Asurion. They replaced the phone within a couple of days. Now the new one is freezing up. What do you recommend?

Solution: Do you have a microSD card installed in your phone? If you have one then try removing it a this might be causing your phone to freeze.

If the issue persists then I suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete don’t install any apps yet, instead try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to have this checked at a service center.
