S7 Edge Randomly Loosing Data In MicroSD Card
Problem: Hi,I’m having issues with external storage, but nothing I find online seems to address this particular issue. It started out with spotify, I started randomly loosing my offline music collection. I then moved to Amazon music for various reasons, but whenever I download music to play offline, it works briefly then I lose it again. If I unmount then mount the SD card it works again, but again only briefly. I have noticed that a spotify folder reappears even when I delete it using the file explorer, and claims to be using 15GB even though I no longer have anything downloaded through the app. Today I deleted the spotify multiple times and ended up with my SD card claiming to have 79GB of 64GB free… I tried formatting the card but after completing the format process, it returns to having 28 out of 64GB used. I’m ready to buy a new SD card, but would like to be more certain before forking out the cash. I will try a different SD card if I have the chance, but any ideas would be appreciated.
Solution: It looks like the microSD card of the phone is corrupt. Your best option right now is to get a new card then check if the problem still occurs.
In the event that the issue still occurs even with a new microSD card installed then I would suggest that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset as the problem could be caused by a software glitch.
S7 Edge No Network Signal
Problem: I have a galaxy S7 edge with AT&T and about 2 or so weeks ago I get no to almost no signal at work (Plano TX) where I’ve been at my same desk for over 2 years with zero signal problems. I thought for sure they had a tower issue but the problem still remains. Thank you!!
Solution: Are other phones under the AT&T network also having the same problem in your location? If they are also not getting any network signal then the problem could be network related.
In case it is only your phone that has a problem with the signal then try removing the SIM card of your phone. Either you insert this SIM card in another device or insert another SIM card in your phone. Thi will allow you to check if your SIM is causing the problem.
If you insert the SIM card in another phone and it is not getting any signal then I recommend that you get a replacement SIM. If it is getting a good signal and your phone is not getting any signal when another SIM is inserted then the problem could be phone related.
What you will want to do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. After the reset do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the issue still occurs. If it does then this could already be a hardware related problem in which case you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Intermittent Beep After Software Update
Problem: Since I did the last scheduled update yesterday, the phone is emitting an intermittent loud beep. I have cleared the cache, also switched it off and on, deleted unessential apps etc and each time it is quiet for a while then does a double dong-dong and the beeping starts again.
Solution: What you will want to do right now is to check if the issue is caused by an app you downloaded by starting the phone in Safe Mode. Once in this mode check if you still hear any beeping sound. If no sound can be heard then this could be caused by a downloaded app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
In case the problem still occur even in Safe Mode then I suggest that you backup your phone data and do a factory reset.
S7 Edge Keeps Getting Multiple Text Messages
Problem: I have a Galaxy S7 Edge. Very often someone will text me and the same text will be sent to my phone 6 times. Whenever the duplicates occur it is always 6 duplicates. Not all messages duplicate within the same thread, however. Please help. this is very frustrating.
Solution: Unfortunately in this case this seems to be a network related problem. Your friend might be getting a message sending failed error on their phone when they are trying to send a text message so they try to send out the message again when in fact the first message that they sent has been successfully sent out. You need to verify if this is the case first.
In case the text message is only sent once then the troubleshooting steps that you can do on your end are as follows.
- Clear the cache and data of the text messaging app from the application manager.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
S7 Edge Does Not Turn On
Problem: My Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge doesn’t turn on. Screen is black. Tried to reboot all the methods mentioned still no response. But red LED light is continuously on, even while charging or without charging.
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this particular case is a simulated battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in this port.
- If your phone has a microSD card installed then remove it.
- Charge the phone for at least 20 minutes using its charger.
- If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.
- You should also check if the phone can charge from a computer USB port.
- Once the phone charger check if you are able to turn it on.
In case the above steps fails to work then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S7 Edge Recorded Video Has Frame Drops
Problem: Hello, I recently purchased an Galaxy S7 Edge and I’d like to understand why sometimes the camera has some frame drops at the middle of the video, and if possible I’d like to know how to fix it, thank you
Solution: Are you using the stock camera app of the phone? If you are then you should try clearing the cache and data of the app from the application manager then check if the issue still occurs.
Also, if you are saving the video to the microSD card then try changing the location to your phone’s internal storage as the microSD card might not be fast enough to handle the recorded video.
If it does then I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
