S6 Edge Refuses To Turn On
Problem: Hey, I hope you are well? I wonder can you help please? I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge phone, I bought it only a few months back. It has a small 32gb memory which has become full with pics etc pretty fast. As the phone was so full I couldn’t run the recent update. Mid using my phone to listen to music the phone flashed white, it then flashed a couple more times and turned itself off. The blue light in the corner flashed and it wouldn’t turn off. I could feel the screen still had haptic feedback but nothing. Now the phone is completely refusing to restart, it has a black screen and no light now. I have tried the volume up (& down) plus home & power key. The phone doesn’t react at all, no vibrate or signs of coming back to life. I don’t know what my most recent Android Version is, sorry. I haven’t backed anything up!! Please can you help ASAP? Thanks in advance.
Related Problem: Hi, I have a Samsung galaxy s6 edge and it was working perfectly fine yesterday, but when I woke up this morning all I had was a black screen and no response to: a reboot, power on or when I plug it in to charge (it wasn’t charging overnight and when plugged in, the led doesn’t appear). I need my phone for a lot of my school work so I need it to be fixed asap. Please help!
Solution: What you will want to do first is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge to turn on the phone. Follow the troubleshooting steps listed below to charge your phone.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure to remove any dirt or debris stuck in the port.
- Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes.
- If the phone does not charge then try using a different charging cord and wall charger.
- Try to charge your phone from a computer USB port.
If the phone charges then to turn on the phone press and hold the power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.
In case the phone does not charge or turn on then you will need to have this checked at a service center.
S6 Edge Not Charging Not Turning On
Problem: Hello i was using my phone and it was at 13% so i grabbed my charger to obviously charge it. the moment i connected it, it dropped to 7% then 3% then 1% and turned off and never turned back on it won’t indicate that its charging i tested my cable and its fine but it wont charge my phone.
Solution: To fix this problem the first thing that you will need to do is to clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the pot is removed. Once this is done try charging the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger.
If the phone doesn’t charge then try charging from a computer USB port. If your phone charges this way then one of the pins of the charging port is most likely damaged. You will need to have this checked at a service center.
In case the phone has sufficient charge then the next step is to try turning it on.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could be caused by a faulty battery or power IC. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Battery Drains Quickly
Problem: Hi, i am having problem with my samsung S6 edge from last months. the battery backup is getting worse. I’m not even able to minimum 11 hours usage after charging 100%.
i recently updated every application in my phone and updated to version 7.0 recently (last month i guess). i am totally fed up with the battery backup with this device. can’t even remove the battery and check the problem. is there any solution you can suggest me to overcome this battery problem. kindly get back to me.
Solution: What you should do first in this case is to check if an app you installed is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. When operating in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Check if the battery still drains. If it doesn’t then the problem could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
In case the issue remains even when the phone is started in Safe Mode then you will have to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet. Try to check first if the battery still drains quickly. If it does then your phone might need a new battery. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
S6 Edge Backing Up Photos When Phone Does Not Turn On
Problem: Hi I have a samsung galaxy s6 edge and tonight my idiot of a boyfriend threw it onto a concrete floor with some effort. The battery was low anyway and when I went to charge it it wouldn’t charge, neither will it charge from a USB port from the computer and i’ve tried cleaning it. I now have the problem that my phone is completely dead, i’m absolutely distraught as I have a 6 month old baby and all her pictures and videos are on my phone and i stupidly haven’t backed them up. Is there anyway I can recover my pictures and videos?
Solution: It’s very likely that the shock from the drop might have damaged some component inside the phone. Since won’t be able to backup your phone data unless you are able to turn on the phone then the best way to proceed right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Screen Is Unresponsive
Problem: my samsung s6 edge was left to charge. after completing i realized that the screen was unresponsive and the power button was stuck. it’s very hard to press the power button now. i managed to do “clear cache” and factory reset a few times but still unresponsive. i tried using smart switch but i can’t as “USB transfer is currently off”. The phone didn’t fall or got wet. i didn’t change any hardware or did any upgrades recently. is there a way to confirm that the screen and digitizer is defective? is there a fix for this issue? thank you.
Solution: If the screen still remains unresponsive after a factory reset has been performed then it’s very likely that the phone has a damaged digitizer. The best way to proceed in this case is to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Will Not Fully Charge
Problem: My phone will reach 100% but then it will just stop charging and lose battery power. I switched cords but it does the same thing. It never reaches “fully charged”. What should I do?
Solution: The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete do not install any apps in your phone yet but instead check first if the same issue still occurs. If i does then the phone might need a new battery. You will have to bring this to a service center and have it checked.
