In this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will tackle the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus crashes when using music app issue & other related problems.

S6 Edge Plus Crashes When Using Music App

Problem: i’m having a crash issue with the samsung music app, there is no problem when playing the song but it will crash when i press into the soundtracks , i have tried every methods, reboot the device, clean the app cache memory, also i have clear the device data, but there is no use at all,also after discovering this problem i cant update music to its latest version too! Hope you can find out the problem and help me, thanks so much

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to make sure that the phone is running on its latest software version. If it is and the issue remains then proceed with the following troubleshooting steps listed below. After performing a step check if the issue still occurs and if it does then proceed to the next step.

  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Edge Plus Not Saving Wi-Fi Password

Problem: I have Samsung Galaxy s6 edge plus ., I have problem with the wifi connection the problem is that my phone wifi doesn’t save the password of my network so I have to enter my password every time I want to connect.

Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to forget the Wi-Fi connection from the phone. Once this is done restart the device then connect to the Wi-Fi network again. If the issue persists then perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Edge Plus Screen Went Black But Phone Still Working

Problem: I was browsing the internet with my phone when the screen went black.  The phone is still on, I can answer phone calls but the screen will not turn back on.  It is also difficult to power down the device because I cannot see the options to turn off or restart the phone.

Solution: What you will need to do first in this particular case is to simulate a battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If the screen is still black then you should start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset from here. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be caused by a faulty display. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.

S6 Edge Plus Unable To Get Software Update

Problem: I have purchased an unlocked verizon s6edge plus from US. I AM unable to update the software. My device is still in 5.1. Each time I check for software updates in setting it says no updates available . I know the system got 6.1 . Now. I am using this in India now.

Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete you should try to use Smart Switch to update your phone. In case this fails to update the phone software then you should consider flashing the updated firmware file to your device. You can get this file from the Sammobile website which is also where you can find the instructions on how to flash your phone.

S6 Edge Plus Retrieving Data When Port Is Damaged

Problem: hello there,  the port on my Samsung S6 edge+ has failed, dirt, debris or idk, that’s what the retail store informed me. also user wear and not covered by the warranty. so i’ve been charging wireless for the past year. how can I retrieve the pictures, data, music, etc,.without a cord. ? thanks for the help

Solution: You can upload your data to cloud storage providers such as Dropbox, Box, or Google Photos. You can also sync your contacts to your Google account so that you will have access to this.

S6 Edge Plus Calls Can’t Be Heard

Problem: Got a samsung s6 edge plus and sometimes when answering calls people can’t listen to me and I can’t listen to them…as soon as I put on speaker mode it works fine…but it’s not always which is annoying….sometimes it works perfectly fine!! any suggestions? thank you

Solution: Start the troubleshooting by checking if the issue occurs when the phone is running in Safe Mode. If the problem does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you installed. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. In case the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then perform the steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

Once the reset is complete do not install any app in your phone yet. Try to check if the issue still occurs. If it does then this might be a hardware related problem in which case you will need to have this checked at a service center.

S6 Edge Plus Screen Not Turning On When Phone Sleeps

Problem: Hi, I updated my phone software a month or half back. I always used to have my “Night Clock” activated during certain hours. But after the update, whenever my phone turns off, night clock turns out, the phone screen would not turn on. It does respond in the background, also if charger is plugged the capacitive buttons also light up but screen won’t turn on. I also received another update today & hoping that would fix the problem, but it did not & the issue still exists. Help!

Solution: If this problem occured right after a software update then this is most likely caused by old software data that has not been completely removed from the phone during the update process. The best way to proceed in this case is to backup your phone data then perform a factory reset.
