Note 5 Loses Wi-Fi Connection
Problem: My phone has Wi-Fi connectivity issues. My router has multiple Wi-Fi networks being broadcasted and when I connect to one i’ll have the signal for a while (varies from about an hour to several hours sometimes days) then randomly on the top taskbar where you can view notifications battery life and Wi-Fi status the Wi-Fi status icon will have an exclamation point on the icon and i’ll go into the settings and see ‘internet may not be available under the connected Wi-Fi and when I switch networks it fixes it and then it happens once again
Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to check if this issue occurs when your phone is connected to a different Wi-Fi network. If it doesn’t then the issue could be caused by your router. Try forgetting your Wi-Fi network connection from the phone then restart both the router and your phone. Search and connect to your Wi-Fi network again. You also need to check if your router is configured correctly and if it is getting a good signal from your ISP.
In case the problem still occurs even if your phone is connected to a different network then tr the following troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then you might have installed an app that is causing this problem. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode then check if the issue still occurs.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Check if the issue still occurs after the reset.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then this might be caused by a faulty Wi-Fi chip. You will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 5 Unable To Use Sync Contacts Error
Problem: Hello. Thank you for looking into all of these problems! I installed the update to my Note 5 this morning (8-3-17). Since then, and never before, I am receiving a notification that says “Unable to use Sync Contacts” and then directly below that text, but in the same notification box, it was “Tap SETTINGS, then allow the following permissions: Contacts”. I can tap the “settings” button that is displayed in the notification box and it brings be to “App Permissions”. All the permissions are enabled. I have turned all settings off and then back on again. I have performed a soft reset of my phone. Don’t know what to do but this damn notification is driving me crazy. Thank you for looking into my problem!
Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to make sure that the phone is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network. If possible try connecting your phone to a different network or use your mobile data connection then check if the issue still occurs.
If it does then the problem could be caused by a software glitch brought by the update. The best thing that you can do right now is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
Note 5 Screen Is Purple
Problem: I have change the display of my galaxy note 5 two times . And in latest case I didn’t damage it yet it was damaged somehow . I don’t know why . Coz I have already lost a lot of money in two time fixing this issue. This will help me alot. Hope for your fast reply n concern in this case. A very fan of your blog
Solution: The screen while usually get damaged if the phone is dropped or if something hard hits it. In this particular case you mentioned that the screen turned purple twice. Either the replacement screen has a factory defect which causes it to turn purple or the phone might have been dropped. The best way to proceed in this case is to have your phone checked at a service center.
Note 5 Lower Screen Not Responding
Problem: The lower part of my screen (note 5) is not responding to my touch with fingers but the s pen works perfectly. I did not drop it and damage it . It has not come in any contact with any liquid. I also restarted my phone several times and also rebooted it (clear everything)
Related Problem: Hello. My Samsung galaxy note 5 screen is unresponsive using my fingertips but s pen does. This happens after i upgraded my os to nougat 7.0. Pls help me to fix this issue.
Solution: What you will want to do in this case is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If after the reset the issue still persists then there’s a possibility that the digitizer of the phone is damaged. You will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 5 SIM Not Found Error
Problem: hello – i am getting the error message (sim not found) on my galaxy note 5. I have had this phone for almost 2 years. I only started getting this error yesterday when I allowed my phone to perform an update. Thanks
Solution: What you should do in this case is to turn off the phone then remove the SIM card. If you have another phone available then it is best to check if the SIM card is working by inserting your phone to this other phone.
Once you have made sure that the SIM card is working properly then you should insert the SIM back into your phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then there’s a possibility that this is caused by a glitch in the update process. I recommend that you backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then I suggest that you have your phone checked at a service center.
Note 5 Not Getting Software Update
Problem: I just bought a samsung note 5 international unlocked version, N920C, and was wondering why i haven’t received the 7.0 update. I live in the united states and use net10 as my carrier. Any info would be appreciated
Solution: Try connecting your computer with the latest version of Smart Switch installed then let this software update your phone. If your phone can’t be updated then it could be because of the following reasons.
- The phone is rooted.
- The phone is running on a custom software.
- The phone has been unlocked and is now running on a different network.
If your phone does not meet any of the above requirements then you should consider flashing the updated firmware file to your device. You can get the firmware file of your phone from the Sammobile website. This is also where you can get the procedure on how to flash your phone.
