#Samsung has released several notable flagship models in recent years. One model which will stand out is the #Galaxy #S6. This is the first flagship device of the company that ditches the usual plastic design and instead now uses metal and glass in its construction which until now is the standard. S6 Not Turning On Unless Plugged To Charger
Problem: Hello my phone will not power on unless it is plugged into a wall charger and even then it still just keeps rebooting once you try to touch it I will not even let me do a hard reset please advise
Solution: The best thing to do right now is to perform a factory reset to immediately eliminate any software glitches that could be causing the problem. Since this can’t be done right now due to the phone not turning on what you should do is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris that’s stuck in this port gets removed. Once this is done try charging the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. Perform a simulated battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds.Normally, your phone should restart after this and if it does you should backup your phone data then do a factory reset. If it doesn’t start then try to check if you are able to start the device in recovery mode then from here perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then this might already be caused by a faulty battery or power IC. The best thing to do right now is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Not Turning On After Drop In Water
Problem: Hello….the phone was dropped in water. It couldn’t power off till it got overheated and displayed a message that the system will shut down to protect itself. After the phone dried, couldn’t power it..i can only access download mode, not even safe mode. Is there a way I could operate it and recover the data?
Solution: Because this phone does not have any waterproofing feature it is very important that you don’t get it wet. Dropping the phone in water will most likely damage some components inside the phone. The first thing that you need to do when your phone comes into contact with water is to wipe it with a dry cloth. Remove the SIM card when doing this. Once the exterior of the phone is dry you will then want to place the device in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture inside the phone. After 48 hour have passed try turning on your phone. If it doesn’t turn on then try charging if first for at least 20 minutes.
If the above steps doesn’t fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Submerged In Water
Problem: My phone was in a drawstring bag that also had a water bottle in it. The water bottle opened and the phone was submerged. I’m not sure how long the phone was in there before I noticed. As soon as I realized what was happening I took my phone out of the water and out of it’s case. Then I dried it off to the best of my ability and sat it in uncooked rice overnight. Now my phone is unresponsive and the screen will not cut on.
Solution: You already performed the best troubleshooting steps that can be done for this particular problem. Unfortunately it seems that some component inside the phone has already been water damaged. What you will want to do in this case is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Screen Is Black With Flashing Blue LED
Problem: Hello, I dropped my phone yesterday and the screen has hairline cracks but the biggest concern is that now the screen is black and there’s a flashing blue light and my phone won’t turn on at all, I tried rebooting it but nothing is working
Solution: The first thing that you will need to do in this case is to make sure that the battery has sufficient charge to turn on the phone. To do this you need to charge the phone first for at least 20 minutes. Once this is done disconnect the phone from its charger then simulate a battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t then the drop might have affected some component inside the phone in which case you will need to have this checked at a service center.
S6 Retrieving Data From Water Damaged Phone
Problem: Hi there! My Galaxy s6 fell into water > it failed to power off at first, then overheated and shut down by itself to “protect the system”. After it dried off, can’t but enter download mode…not even safety mode. Is there a way to retrieve the data??
Solution: The only way that you will be able to retrieve your data from the phone is if it starts normally. Since your phone got wet what you will want to do is to place the device in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. Once this is done try turning on the phone. If it fails to turn on normally then try connecting it to a computer with Smart Switch running. If the phone can be detected then you will be able to retrieve your data.
In case the above steps fails to work then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Keeps On Performing Software Update
Problem: Hi, I just recently purchased a Galaxy s6. Similar to one of your articles about the s5, the update keeps repeating itself over and over, acting like it never updated. Is there anything specific to the s6 that I can do? Thanks so much.
Solution: If the software update that keeps appearing is the same version then this could be caused by a software glitch. What you will want to do in this case to fix the problem is to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
In case the software update that keeps appearing is a different version from what you have installed in your phone then just let the update continue.
S6 Not Charging
Problem: my phone has shut down due to low battery and now it won’t charge, although when it is turned off it does show the charging sign but the percentage stays 0%
Related Problem: I’ve had my phone for over a year and about 30 minutes ago may have gotten I tiny bit (like a drop) of water in my phone. Now my phone will not charge.
Solution: What you will want to do in this case is to clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed. Once this is done try charging the phone. If necessary try using a different charging cord and wall charger. In case the phone does not charge then you will need to have this checked at a service center.
