S6 Edge Does Not Charge After Getting Wet

Problem: Hi I’m kind of a novice at cell repair, but I’m trying to TS a major issue. This phone has a little history 1st the screen broke so replace the entire LCD . Works like a charm for about a month . Went to the beach with phone and got a little wet. Normally this would have not been a problem with the S6 , But I think because of the repair the factory seal was no longer there and allowed a little salt water in. After the phone did not recharge after a day. I ordered a new battery . Upon removing old battery I did notice the battery swelled so Was hoping this was the only issue . Have the phone put back together now but same problem . It lights up as if it’s charging and I see the display with Lightning bolt , But does actually never gives a percentage , And blanks out after a minute or 2 . Do you think my problem at this point is a faulty board , Or is it possible the battery they sent is defective.

Solution: There are several factors that can cause this particular issue. We know that the phone got wet so some component inside got water damaged. Since the issue still occurs after replacing the battery then it’s possible that the new battery you got is faulty. If you have a multimeter you can easily check the output voltage of the battery  and see if it is working.

Another factor that can cause this problem is a faulty internal component which could be the power IC or the charging port. The best way to proceed in this scenario is to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Switched Off Randomly Not Turning On

Problem: My phone was fine at the start of the day but by the end of the day it has switched itself off and I cannot turn it on? There is no error messages and if I connect the charger it does tell me it’s charging and has about 80% battery?? Can you help with this please?

Solution: What you will want to do right now is to simulate a battery pull. This is done by pressing the power button and the volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this. If it doesn’t restart then try starting the phone in recovery mode. If the phone starts in this mode then I recommend that you do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Does Not Turn On

Problem: Hi my s6 edge fairly used won’t switch on. It just went off by itself and all attempts to switch it on have been in vain. I suspect the new nougat 7.0 update to be the problem as it never uses to do this before I updated it. The battery was charged when it went off. Please help

Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this case is to simulate a battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. If all goes well then your phone will restart after this. In case it doesn’t then proceed with the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
  • Charge your phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. Make sure that the cord and charger have been tested to work on another device. Turn on your phone.
  • If the phone does not turn on then charge your phone from a computer USB port for 20 minutes then turn it on.
  • Try starting the phone in recovery mode. If it starts in this mode then I suggest that you do a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

Problem: Put my Samsung Galaxy S6 edge on charge last night and when I woke this morning the phone wouldn’t turn on but the charging light is still on even when I disconnected the phone, I’ve done everything to try turn it back on but no luck

Solution: What you will want to do right now is to simulate a battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Normally, your phone will restart after this. If it doesn’t then try charging your phone again for at least 20 minutes. Before charging your phone it’s best to clean the charging port first using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in the port gets removed. If you don’t see any charging indicator then try using a different charging cord and wall charger. You should also try charging your phone from a computer USB port. S6 Edge Not Turning On After Placing In Water

Problem: I am having galaxy s6 edge SM-G925F. I put half of the phone in water to take a photo. suddenly it turn off and it won’t turn on. but when i plug the charger and start charging, in the screen the battery is charging but it won’t show the boot logo. so it won’t boot and can’t go for factory reset. this continuous when i unplug it turn off again..

Solution: It’s not a good idea to place this phone in water since it does not have any waterproofing feature. It’s very likely that the problem is caused by water entering the device. What you should do right now is to wipe the phone with a dry cloth until no more water is present in its exterior. You will also have to place the phone in a bag of rice for at least 48 hours. The rice will absorb the moisture present inside the phone. Onc this is done try turning on the phone. If it still does not turn on then I suggest that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.

S6 Edge Black Screen with Solid Blue LED

Problem: My phone is black screen frozen solid and permanent blue light (NOT BLINKING). nothing works, i hold down all the damn buttons for minutes

Solution: What you will want to do right now is to simulate a battery pull by pressing and holding both power and volume down button for at least 10 seconds. Your phone will restart after this.
