Back in 2015 #Samsung released a trio of high end smartphones that had similar specs but had varying display sizes. The #Galaxy #S6EdgePlus is the larger of these three smartphones which uses a 5.7 inch Super AMOLED display that curves around the edges. Having a 5.7 inch display on a phone might not be a big deal today since we now have phones that have 6 inch displays but back then this was really huge. A lot of people are using this phone as their reliable daily driver and they are quite pleased with it however there are instances when certain issues can occur which we will be addressing today. S6 Edge Plus Shuts Down When Not In Use
Problem: My phone shut down itself whenever i don’t use it for several minutes but if i just keeps on using it wont turn off or shut down. When it shut down i cant open it by using the normal power button i have to press vol down button + power button to open it
Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to check if some software glitch is causing the problem. Perform the troubleshooting steps listed below then check if the issue still occurs after each step is done. If the issue still occurs then proceed to the next step.
- Try to check if an app you installed is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone operates in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this might already be caused by a faulty battery or power IC. I recommend that you bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Plus Not Charging
Problem: so my phone has not been charging for 2 days and it started to and then I turned it on and it stopped charging so it started doing that again so it only charges when it is a sleep and even if it is a sleep it doesn’t charge all the way and I have a Samsung galaxy s6 edge pulse and It won’t do fastcharge
Solution: If your phone does not charge or has issues when charging then you should perform the following troubleshooting steps which we have listed below.
- Clean the charging port of the phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed as this could interfere with the charging process.
- Try using a different charging cord and wall charger when charging the phone.
- Check if your phone can charge from a computer USB port. If it charges this way then one of the pins of the charging port could be damaged. I recommend that you have this checked at a service center.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This will allow you to check if the problem is caused by a software glitch.
If the problem still persists then this might already be caused by a hardware issue possibly by any of these components.
- Charging Port
- Power IC
Should this be a hardware related problem you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Plus USB Cable Connected Disconnected Error
Problem: My samsung galaxy s6 edge+ keeps saying USB cable is connected/disconnected and makes that sound even though the USB cable is not connected. I tried restarting it but that did not fix the problem. When I charge it says charger connected, and within few minutes it disconnects, and then connects again and just keeps doing that
Solution: It’s very likely that this problem is caused by an issue with the charging port of your phone. You should however check if other factors are causing this problem by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Sometimes dirt or debris stuck in the charging port can cause this problem. Try cleaning this port using a can of compressed air.
- It’s also possible that a software glitch is causing this issue. To check if this is the case you need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
S6 Edge Plus Stuck In Safe Mode After Security Update
Problem: Received a security update and phone will only open in safe mode. I have restarted several times and also completely shut down and waited several minutes. Still stuck in safe mode
Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to charge the phone for at least 20 minutes. Make sure that the charging indicator is present on the screen. Once this is done start your phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that this reset will erase your phone data.
S6 Edge Plus Calls Come In But Screen Is Black
Problem: Hey, i have a problem with my galaxy s6 edge plus’ screen. Calls go through, there’s a blue blinking led light, the home and power button both work but the screen is just black. Whenever i press the home button or the power button the screen just shows a bunch of colors for a quick second then goes back to black. I’ve already tried to reset it but it didn’t work. Is there anything i can do to fix it???
Related Problem: Black screen, I can receive calls, phone seems to be working. Last application I used was WhatsApp. Then I pressed the power button to shut down to blackout the screen (as I always used to do) and the screen never came back. I tried the hard shutdown and I also left the phone to drain the battery and nothing.
Solution: If your phone has a black screen but it is still getting notifications then this could either be caused by an issue with the display or a glitch in the phone software. What you will want to do first in this case is to simulate a battery pull. This is done by pressing and holding both power and volume down buttons for at least 10 seconds. Your phone should restart after this.
If the screen is still black then proceed with starting the phone in recovery mode. If the screen works in this mode then I suggest that you do a factory reset from here. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data. If however the screen remains black then I suggest that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
