Note 5 Screen Freezes From Time To Time
Problem: The screen on my Samsung Galaxy S5 seems to partially freeze from time to time. Parts of the screen might freeze (say at the bottom) but the top is fine) Or if l type a letter on the keyboard, it will print the letter on the line above it. If l bash the screen with my hand a few times it might improve. Any ideas?
Solution: The first thing that you will want to do in this case is to check if the phone software is causing the problem by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone is started in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. Does the issue occur in this mode? If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app that you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset,
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then this could already be caused by a faulty display in which case you will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 5 Accessing Phone With Broken Screen
Problem: I have a samsung note 5. The screen is broken and it went black. I can’t do anything on the screen and can’t see anything. It has a password lock. I tried find my phone to unlock and connect to smart switch but that didn’t work. Also tried lock my phone and entering password and then connecting to a keyboard in an attempt to put in the password and that didn’t work either. Really need your help. Can’t afford to change the screen and digitizer and just want to extract my data from the phone. Please help
Solution: One workaround to access the phone that has a broken display is to unlock the phone using the find my mobile website and then using Smart Switch to backup the phone data. Since you mentioned that this process does not work then your only other choice to access your phone data is to have the display assembly replaced.
Note 5 Has Bubble On Upper Left Corner Screen
Problem: Ok, so.. i have a note 5 which i am using to text u which has a problem. I recently noticed a bubble kind of thing on the upper left corner of the screen. It seems to grow bigger and bigger every day. But i can assure u that i have never dropped it or caused it any external damage. I bought it last year in september. Plz tell me what i should do. I can’t see my phone in that state
Solution: This problem is most likely caused by a damaged display however other factors can also contribute to this issue such as a software glitch. To troubleshoot this problem you need to first check if the issue is caused by an app that you installed by starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app in which case you need to find out what app this is and uninstall it.
In case the problem occurs even in Safe Mode then you should proceed with a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data so make sure to backup your data before doing this.
Should the above steps fail to fix the problem then you will need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked since the display is most likely damaged already.
Note 5 Screen Is Black After Drop
Problem: My galaxy Note 5 screen is black my daughter threw it out the car window Phone still can make noise and charge. The red light comes on when charger is inserted I can turn the volume up or down.
Solution: It’s very likely that the display of the phone got damaged when it was thrown. Try starting the phone in recovery mode then check if the screen works in this mode. If it works then this might just be caused by a software glitch in which case you will need to perform a factory reset. Take note that the reset will erase your phone data.
If the screen remains black even when started in recovery mode then the display is most likely damaged already. If this is the case then you will need to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 5 Screen Has Purple Patch
Problem: I just woke up after a nap in the afternoon and saw a purple patch starting to cover up my screen from the bottom left of my Galaxy Note 5.. just fear what next? Its increasing with time!
Solution: What you will want to do first in this case is to check if the issue is caused by a software glitch by performing the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. Do you still see the purple patch when the phone is running in this mode? If it is not present then the problem could be caused by an app which you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
In case the above steps fails to fix the problem then you will have to bring the phone to a service center and have it checked. In case the problem is caused by the display then you will have to replace the whole display assembly.
Note 5 Only Boots When Connected To Charger
Problem: So, I did a hard reboot about a month ago when my phone was stuck on 0% after an hour of charging. Well it happened again. And now I can’t hard reboot it, I tried . When I tried. It instantly starts up with the title screen “Samsung Galaxy note 5” which it proceeds to go to a blue screen saying “Installing system update” and then shuts off, repeating the first part and second part continuously. Not gaining a charge at all, because I let it sit there for over a hour. Unplugged it . Mind you it was doing it’s little issue I just explained. Tried to turn it on and it wouldn’t Start up. Only when it’s on the charger does it boot up. But it boots up into it’s problem. I’ve tried almost all your booting and resets to no avail. Your stuff has helped me before and I hope you can solve this.
Solution: Since you are unable to perform a factory reset on this phone then it’s very likely that the problem is caused by a faulty battery or power IC. Before bringing the phone to a service center you should attempt the following troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Start the phone in recovery mode then do a factory reset. Take note that your phone data will be erased in this process
- If you are unable to do a factory reset then connect your phone to a charger then start it in recovery mode. Attempt a factory reset again.
Note 5 Video Playback Freezes
Problem: I have a Samsung Note 5 that is one year old. When I watch any video, whether online via YouTube or Facebook, or even a video that I shot myself, the picture freezes for about three seconds, (this happens about 4 or 5 seconds into the video). Once it unfreezes, the audio is then out of sync with the video. If I pause the video, then unpause (is that a word?) it, then it does the same thing. Thoughts?
Solution: It’s very likely that this problem is caused by a software glitch. To troubleshoot this problem start the phone in Safe Mode first. From here check if the issue still occurs. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by one of the apps you downloaded. Find out what app this is then uninstall it. If the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then you will need to wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode then proceed with a factory reset. Take note that you will need to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
