S6 Edge Not Receiving Group Texts

Problem: Hello I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, and my phone is not receiving group texts at all. Whenever I receive a group text my phone immediately labels it as an unknown a dress, and the texts reads: “Message not found”. I was wondering if there is a solution for this problem without formating my phone. Thanks

Solution: In most networks group texts are sent and received using a mobile data connection so it’s best to check if you have an active mobile data connection first.

Once you have made sure that your phone has an active mobile connection proceed with checking the APN settings of your phone, Make sure that these settings match the settings of your network. Make the necessary setting changes in your phone if needed.

If the issue still persists then perform the following steps listed below. Immediately check if the issue occurs after performing a step then proceed to the next one if the issue still occurs.

  • Clear the cache and data of the text messaging app.
  • Start the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by a third party app installed in your phone. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Edge Characters Show As Blank Spaces When Texting

Problem: When texting, or typing for that matter, characters show up as blank spaces. Happens when sending an SMS or when using Facebook through the browser, not the app. The cursor moves as if a character is typed but the space is blank. Searched other threads and can not see this issue elsewhere.

Solution: The first thing that you need to do right now is to check if the keyboard app is causing the problem by clearing the cache and data of the keyboard app from the application manager. Once this is done check if the issue still occurs. If it does then follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

S6 Edge Not Receiving Text Messages

Problem: My phone will send text messages but not receive text messages. I have tried everything from uninstalling the message app to factory resetting my phone to no avail. Could the issue be on my service providers side? Will I need a new phone?

Solution: Since you already performed a factory reset which didn’t fix the problem then this could either be caused by an account or network related problem. Try using a different SIM card in your phone then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you will need to contact your service provider regarding this matter.

S6 Edge Not Sending Text Messages After Update

Problem: I have the Galaxy edge 6  and just did an update a few days ago.  My texts look a bit different now with either Chat, SMS or MMS on the right side where send is.  My problem is that not everyone is receiving my texts.  I had to recreate some important contacts to get them to receive.  I have a lot of contacts and use my phone for business.  I can’t tell who is getting texts and who is not.  I just know I am not getting replies and then I have to call. very frustrating.   

Solution: If the problem occured right after the software update then this might be caused by some form of old software data that has not been completely removed from your phone. This data causes a conflict with the new software version resulting in this issue. To fix this problem perform the following troubleshooting steps listed below.

  • Restart your phone. By restarting the device its software will be refreshed. Check if the issue still occurs.
  • Start the phone in Safe Mode then check if the issue occurs in this mode. If it doesn’t then it could be caused by an app that you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.

If the issue still persists even after performing the steps listed above then you should ty contacting your network provider as this might already be a network related problem.

S6 Edge Sending Duplicate Text Messages

Problem: Hi! Recently, my s6 edge has been sending duplicate messages (4 or 5 at a time of the same message). I have cleared the cache, data, and powered off the phone multiple times to no avail. Since I cannot remove the battery, I’m not sure how else to fix the problem. Can you recommend what to do next?

Solution: What you should do in this particular case is to check if the issue occurs even in Safe Mode. If it doesn’t occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app that you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it. If the problem still occurs even in Safe Mode then you need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete check if the problem still occurs.

If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should contact your network provider regarding this matter as this could already be a network related issue.

S6 Edge Not Sending Or Receiving Pictures

Problem: I have been trying to send photos on messages and they will say sent but they will never get the photo and it’s the same when the try to send me a photo. They have a IPhone and I have a Samsung Galaxy s6 edge. What could be the issue? Please help me.

Solution: If the message registers as sent on your phone then it has most likely been sent out successfully. The problem might be on the recipient’s side especially that they are using an iPhone. There might be compatibility issues with the iMessage platform that the recipient is using. I recommend that you have the recipient  go to their phone setting then on the messages field make sure that “Send as SMS is activated”. Once this is done have then delete your message thread on their phone.

S6 Edge Text Notification Activates But No Text Message Received

Problem: I hear a sound telling me a text message has come through but when I go to texts there is neither a number by icon indicating a text received nor are there any new texts present. It is an intermittent problem which only arises if my finger is touching the phone screen at the time of the text coming through (as evident by the text sound) I know this is happening as I have had several contacts ask me why I have not responded to their texts

Solution: What you should do first in this case is to check if an app you installed is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by one of the apps that you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.

If the issue still occurs even in Safe Mode then follow the steps listed below.

  • Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
  • Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
