Note 4 Turned Off While Charging
Problem: Hi, I’m using Samsung note 4 running on 6.0.1, last week while recharging my phone turned off .since then I can’t restart my phone, if I try it would turn off ;then I have to take the battery off and try several times to get into recovery mode, and then have to reboot the phone. It will not get into any other mode now; i have updated software using smartswitch and have changed the battery too. But still the problem persist.now I have installed wakelock ;I think it’s keeping the phone on,but if the battery drains off then I will be in great trouble .the phone was not fast charging too recently and I have even bought a new custom charger also.is there any solution ????
Solution: Since you have already tried replacing the battery, updating the phone software which doesn’t seem to fix the problem then your last option will be to perform a factory reset. Make sure to backup your phone data before doing the reset.
If the problem still occurs after the reset then it is most likely caused by a faulty internal component possibly the power IC. You will have to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Freezes Turns Off
Problem: Ok had this phone for 2 years no issue till yesterday and today i was on facebook and it froze nothing works so i took the battery out and tried to restart it but it showed and said that something downloading idk first time seeing this screen so i took the battery out and restart it and it worked everything worked till this morning when i was texting someone it froze and it turned off so i removed the battery and restart it and it work once again all day it worked but then when i was turning my phone on to see the time just a black screen nothing work power button etc so i took the battery out n tried to restart it but nothing happens it didnt wana start i keep taking out the battery several times and nothing then again the downloading screen pop up so i took out the battery and finally it works but everything is glitchy so it worked for awhile n again it turned off and this time i couldn’t restart it took the battery out n everything nothing put my phone to charge and nothing shows i was attempting to restart it for over 2 hrs n nothing but now it turned on n it look like its functions kinda good but scared to turn my phone off kuz idk if it gonna shut off please help me
Solution: The first thing that you should do in this particular case is to check if a glitch in the phone software is causing this problem. To do this just follow the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it has then try removing this as this could be causing the problem.
- Try to check if an app you installed is causing the problem by starting the phone in Safe Mode. When the phone is started in this mode only the pre-installed apps are allowed to run. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it is most likely caused by an app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps fail to fix the problem then you need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this could already be a hardware related problem.
Note 4 Keeps Turning Off Not Turning On Unless Charged
Problem: My Samsung galaxy note 4 keeps turning off and won’t come back on unless it is being charged. This happens even if the battery is at over 90%. This problem used to occur at around 50% battery level, however for the past 2 days, it’s been occurring at all battery levels.
Solution: The first thing that you should check in this case is if the battery is causing the problem. The battery of a phone degrades over time and your phone might already have a faulty battery right now. What you need to do to is to replace the battery with a new one.
If the problem still occurs even with a new battery installed in your phone then the next step is to check if a software glitch is causing this problem. To do this you will need to backup your phone data then do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete immediately check if the issue still occurs.
If the problem persists even after performing the above steps then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked as this might already be caused by an internal component that is failing to work.
Note 4 Shuts Down By Itself
Problem: the phone shuts down by itself It’s impossible to restart without removing the battery , put it back and press home volume and home button
Related Problem: It goes blank by itself, then nothing happens and i have to remove battery and have to wait for few minutes to put the battery back and restart. Sometime it starts and sometime custom downloading screen come on and I have to remove battery again.
Solution: The most likely reason why your phone is acting this way is due to a faulty power IC. you should however check first if another factor is causing this problem by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This will allow you to check if a software glitch is causing this problem. Immediately check if the issue still occurs after the reset.
- Try using a new battery.
If the above steps fails to fix the problem then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Device Is Overheating Error
Problem: I’m using a Samsung Note 4 (android 6.0 marshmallow) for few months and recently it gave me an error message that the device is overheating. I can only use the contact and messaging apps. I can’t even open the settings. Please provide a possible solution that can be taken to fix this. Also note that there was no water/liquid damage or physical damage to the phone.
Related Problem: I have a Galaxy Note 4. Yesterday it has started shutting off and coming back on. I can’t get past this. The phone is very hot to the touch. I removed battery and am waiting on your reply I don’t know what version it has..i just selected one.
Solution: The first thing that you need to do when you get this error message is to check if the phone is indeed overheating. If the phone is indeed hot then immediately turn it off and take out its battery. Wait for a couple of minutes for the phone to cool down. Before turning on the phone perform the steps listed below.
- If your phone has a microSD card then remove it.
- Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air making sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed.
- Check if the battery is damaged. If the batter has a bulge then you need to replace it with a new one.
Reinsert the battery then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then backup your phone data then perform a factory reset. Once the reset is done and you still get the same problem then you should bring the phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Fast Charging Not Working After Software Update
Problem: My Note 4 software was updated by AT&T in late March 2017. Since then my fast-charging is no longer working and my desktop and laptop would not even recognize my Note 4. It now takes 8 hours to charge my phone battery to 100% from the previous 2 to 3 hours with fast-charging. Please help! Thank you so much in advance!
Solution: This looks like a problem caused by a faulty charging port. Try cleaning the charging port using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris stuck in this port is removed. If the issue remains then try using a different USB cord to check if the cord you are using is causing the problem.
If the issue still persists then try the following steps listed below before bringing your phone to a service center.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. This allows you to check if the update is causing the problem.
- Replace the battery with a new one.
