Note 4 Not Restarting After Marshmallow Update
Problem: Phone won’t restart After the marshmallow update. Randomly shuts down and won’t restart till the battery is taken out and have to wait few minutes. Completed the factory reset after few tries. Now trying to restart the phone… it will shut down but still won’t restart till the battery is removed and inserted again before waiting few minutes.
Solution: Right now you will need to try replacing the battery with a new one as sometimes this issue could be caused by a faulty battery. If the issue still persists then we might be looking at a faulty power IC issue. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Not Charging Not Turning On
Problem: I began to notice that the phone was not connecting to cellular data, just wifi. Soon after, I reset it and it would stay connected for a little bit, and then it would not connect to cellular data. I restarted again, and then a black screen with a log of messages on the top left of the screen appeared with the Android logo in the middle. I left it there until it finished loading or the battery died and then I tried turning it back on, and no response. I have tried putting in safe mode (volume, power and home buttons) but no response. I have taken the battery out and back in several times, and no response. It cannot be the battery because I just got a replacement about 3 weeks ago… I have tried charging the phone but no charge is going in as the light does not turn on. P.s. The battery still had 75% when it stopped turning on. What else can I do that might be a possibly to make it work? Thank you!!!
Solution: The first thing that you need to do in this particular issue is to verify if a discharged battery is causing this problem. If the battery does not have any charge in it then what’s going to follow is that the phone will not turn on. Listed below are the steps that you need to perform to charge the phone.
- Clean the charging port of your phone using a can of compressed air. Make sure that any dirt or debris present in the port is removed.
- Try charging the phone for at least 20 minutes using a different charging cord and wall charger. Check if there is any response from the phone.
- Try charging your phone for at least 20 minutes from a computer USB port.
- Try replacing the battery with a new one.
If the issue persists then remove the battery of the phone then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. Reinsert the battery then check if the phone turns on. If you are still not getting any response then this could already be a hardware related problem. If this is the case then you need to bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
Note 4 Does Not Start Unless Battery Is Removed
Problem: recently i face some problems with my note 4..when i use my phone it’s completely fine…but when i turn off my screen it stucks there…it wont turn on..and the problem is more when i charge my mobile turning off my display..phone automatically shuts down and won’t wake up …p if i oping out of battery for some time then it turn on again..i have done clear cache partition but it won’t show any result. sometimes it goes to downloading mode when i only power on the mobile…what is the problem and what should i do.
Solution: If your phone does not start unless the battery is removed then there’s a possibility that it might have a malfunctioning power IC. You should however check if there are other factors that could be causing this problem by following the steps listed below.
- Remove the battery and microSD card of the phone then press and hold the power button for at least a minute. This will discharge the phone circuit and clear out its RAM. Reinsert just the battery then turn on the phone. Check if the issue still occurs.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. This way you will be able to check if an app you downloaded is causing the problem. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by a downloaded app. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
If the above steps don’t fix the problem then it could be caused by a faulty power IC. I recommend that you bring your phone to a service center and have it checked if this is the case.
Note 4 Stuck In Boot Screen After Update
Problem: I have a Samsung galaxy note 4,it has downloaded an update yesterday. It was fine till it randomly crashes and stuck at the booting screen, I can make the phone work by charging it, but when not charging for a split second the problem happens again. Any help is appreciated
Solution: What you should do first in this case is to check if the update is causing this problem by following the troubleshooting steps listed below.
- Wipe the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode. Restart the phone then check if the issue still occurs.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset. What this does is it erases the old software data that might not have been removed during the update process and is now causing a conflict with the new software version.
If the problem still occurs even after performing the steps listed above then you should try getting a new battery.
Note 4 Screen Is Black After Drop
Problem: I have a Samsung galaxy four and my brother accidentally dropped it on the concert it still works but a day later I turned it off and at the end of the day I turned it on and it would be a black screen I could hear the sound and notifications. I’m not Sure what version it is.
Solution: It appears that the display has been damaged by the drop. One way to check if this is the case is to check if the screen works in recovery mode. If it does then do a factory reset from here. Take note that this will delete the phone data. If the screen does not work in recovery mod then it’s very likely that you will need to have the display assembly replaced at a service center.
Note 4 Shuts Down While On 4G
Problem: Note 4 shuts down umpteen times while on 4G factory reset the phone but it doesn’t work using wifi at home (shut down does not happen/ happen less) if it shuts down (soft reset helps but only for a short while) sim card put into iphone (the phone works well) sim card back to Note 4 (can’t send sms properly, kept being asked to resend or say there is no service) I seriously don’t know what is wrong with this phone had been with me for 2 years? during the 2 years the past few months before shutting down happened (the phone always vibrate non stop when i open the camera) close the camera and open again then it will be normal few weeks before shutting down happened (while i go to fb or whatsapp, it would lag and stop there, therefore forcing you to close and reopen the app again) And samsung worker said it might be the hardware problem and would need $800 plus to fix this shit So is it telling me might as well buy a new phone
Solution: Unfortunately if a factory reset does not fix the problem then it appears that this might already be a hardware related problem. You could try replacing the battery with a new one. If the issue still remains then you should consider having this repaired or just buy a new phone.
Note 4 Freezes Randomly
Problem: My Note 4 has started freezing randomly. Sometimes it will shut off and restart on its on. It will go black and the only way to get it to come back on is to take the battery out and restart the phone. This is happening at least 10 times a day. Please help..
Solution: Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then try removing it then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then perform the troubleshooting steps listed below. Check if the issue still occurs after performing a step then move to the next one if it does.
- Start the phone in Safe Mode. If the issue does not occur in this mode then it could be caused by an app you downloaded. Find out what app this is and uninstall it.
- Wipe the cache partition of the phone from the recovery mode.
- Backup your phone data then do a factory reset.
- Try getting a new battery.
If the issue still persists even after performing the steps listed above then you should bring your phone to a service center and have it checked.
