S7 Edge Freezing Turning Off

Problem: Hi. I have samsung S7 edge. It’s been working very well for 6 months. But started giving problems like freezing and turns on and off. I have read the same troubleshooting problems.. I have tried all the steps you have mentioned like safe mode on, i have uninstalled all third party app. I have done master reset as well many times. Still the problem persists. Freeze problem is less now but auto reboot all the time. Can you me more suggestion regarding this. Thanks

Solution: Since you already performed a factory reset then it’s unlikely that the problem is software related. Let’s try to find out the other factors that can cause this problem. Does your phone have a microSD card installed? If it does then you should try removing it. If the issue does not occur once the card is removed then the card could be corrupt. You should try replacing this card or formatting it. Another factor that can cause this problem is some power issue.Try to connect your phone to its charger then check if the issue occurs. If it doesn’t then you should have the battery checked at a service center.

If the above steps fail to fix the problem then I recommend bringing your phone to a service center and have it checked.

S7 Edge Error Messages After Nougat Update

Problem: Hello. I received a notification to update my phone to the nougat update. So I installed the update. It took about 40 minutes to install, which I thought was more than it should have been. (But I don’t know). Now that I turned it on, it keeps giving me error messages that continuously pop up and wont let me access my screen at all to go into settings or anything. These pop ups even show up on the startup screen, blocking me from putting in my password to access anything. There are 2 error messages specifically. One says Wi-Fi Calling has stopped, which I know can be prevented if i turned off the Wi-Fi calling, but like I said, I cannot access anything. The other message says com.sec.epdg has stopped. I honestly have no idea what this means. Looking at your other troubleshooting solutions, I managed to get my phone into safe mode. But the messages keep popping up. I don’t know how to fix this. When i push the home key, the entire screen turns black except for the safe mode message in the corner and it takes forever to respond. Sometimes I feel like it isn’t registering when I touch the screen because it will just timeout and close. And sometimes when it does this, I push the power key, and it wont turn on all and sometimes it will turn on. I don’t know how to turn this off and I really don’t want to have to reset it. Please Help

Solution: If this issue occured right after a software update then it is very likely caused by some form of old software data that got left behind during the update process. This old data is now causing a conflict with the new software version resulting in this problem. Try wiping the cache partition of your phone from the recovery mode then check if the issue still occurs. If it does then you have no other choice but to do a factory reset. Take note that this reset will erase your phone data so make sure to backup your data first.

S7 Edge Software Update Install Interrupted

Problem: My galaxy s7 edge will not update to the latest software even though there is nothing preventing it from doing so. It will download the software, but then it will say install interrupted. I have tried everything from putting in safe mode, resetting it, turning it off and on but nothing seems to work. What should I do next??? Thanks!

Solution: Try connecting your phone to a computer with Smart Switch installed then let the software update your phone.

S7 Edge Has Not Received Any Updates

Problem: I have owned a galaxy s7 edge since it’s release on AT&T. This phone has never received an update. When checking manually I receive a message that my current software is up to date. Still running. A security version from 2/1/16

Solution: There are several conditions that your phone must first meet before it is able to get the official carrier update which are listed below.

  • Your phone should not be rooted
  • Your phone should not be running on a custom software.
  • If you have unlocked this phone then it should be running on its original network

If your phone meets the above conditions and it is not getting any updates then try to backup your phone data and do a factory reset. Once the reset is complete manually check for the update.

You can also do the update by connecting your phone to a computer with Smart Switch installed. Once the software has detected your phone it will notify you regarding a new update.

If the above steps doesn’t update your phone software then you should consider manually flashing the updated firmware file to your phone. Instructions on how to do this can be found at several of the popular Android forums online.

S7 Edge Stuck In Sprint Logo After Nougat Update

Problem: I was on nougat beta on my S7 edge, I received the final release of nougat 7.1 it downloaded and it’s been stuck on Sprint logo (LTE Plus) I tried pressing vol up, home & power button, but nothing happens. I also tried pressing vol down, Home, & power butter and it restarts right back to the Sprint logo. Please help because my phone is getting really hot now. Thank you.

Solution: What you need to do right now is to access the recovery mode of your phone then first try to wipe the cache partition of the device. If this fails to fix the problem then you should consider doing a factory reset also in recovery mode. Take note that this will erase your phone data.

S7 Edge Can’t Uninstall Nillkin App

Problem: Have installed an app for Nillkin round phone case and cannot remove it by all conventional means. It will not let me turn off on device manager either. It is a terrible app and keeps trying to locate my phone. Please help remove it.

Solution: If you are unable to uninstall the app from the application manager then just go to the home screen of your phone then tap on Apps. From here search for the Nillkin app and long press it. A trash icon on the upper left side of the screen will appear which says “uninstall”. Just drag the app icon to the trash icon to uninstall it.

  1. Hi, My new S7 Edge is less than 16 days new. I put the phone in my front pocket, took it out and noticed blood running down my hand. The back glass has shattered and cut my hand. No help from Verizon or even worse Samsung wanting me send the phone to them for 2 weeks and pay $200.00for repair. Device is “Damaged” and warranty is “Void” both Verizon and Samsuck. So in my opinion, the Galaxy S7 Edge has a design flaw, built to break and dangerous. Anyone else have back glass breaking issues? I think a re-call is definitely in order and a re-call should be started on this useless and expensive phone.

  2. hi my s7 has been working fine for months and now the screen has just gone blank …black for a better word calls coming through but I just have a blank screen and I really don’t know why.
